I said this a couple of weeks ago, but the sheer number of ‘celebrities’ who seem to be getting this suggests that it is already far more rife in the general population than we imagined.
Fingers crossed, but I suspect it's more to do with the fact that they're always getting close to lots of other people. Price Charles, Boris etc mingled with lots of people from around the world - people who were often doing the same thing as them. Meanwhile, the rest of us, have only come into close contact with a modest number of people.

I am worried that the UK had a lovely, sunny weekend of people freely mingling before going into proper lockdown. The same happen here in Spain when they (inexplicably, well not really, it was political) allowed the International Womans Day marches to go ahead. I'm a bleeding heart lefty and said at the time there was no chance I was going into Barcelona for the march. Simply cannot believe they allowed it. I hope the same is not said of the UK sometime next week.

919 today :nono:

I’m reading that the virus has taken hold in the south now so they are heading for another spike it seems.

Fascinatingly low figures from the Rep Of Ireland who decided early to try and block the blasted thing out of their Country and locked down sharpish. Taking the opposite strategy to our government could mean thousands of saved lives or a future of hell as they remain isolated indefinitely trying to keep the wolf from their doors.

The population of Ireland is half that of London with a land area 50 times as big. I'm not sure how you can make a like for like comparison of decisions taken given the factors at play are so different.

I’m afraid in a week’s time we shall probably be looking at 600 in one day and then, hopefully, it’ll start to come down.

Hope it’s not as bad as that, but going by the maths that’s what it’s looking like.

My relatives live about 50km from Naples. They should be a bit safer in the small villages you would hope, however if this takes hold in Naples It would be devastating. So many people crammed in to small spaces.
