Anyone going on this little outing on July 14th?

Think it will be a good day out. Can't find ticket details anywhere yet though

What a pre-season game nearly THREE months away and theres not any ticket details anywhere?!

Hang the DJ!

Show stopping response.......................................

I was at an exhibition in Kent last week and spoke to some Maidstone FC staff who mentioned that they have sold out, so (now sit tight for this one Tubby) i wondered, just wondered if our allocation had gone on sale.

Phew :shootself

I do like the fact that we get to play some of these localish tin-pot lower-league completely skint outfits in pre season. It's something for their supporters to look forward to.

Which reminds me, I presume we are playing Portsmouth this pre-season?

Albion Start Pre-Season at Maidstone

A year after Albion moved into the Amex, the Seagulls will help Maidstone United open their new stadium.

Albion will be The Stones' first opponents at the £2.6million Gallagher Stadium on Saturday 14th July, which will kick-start Albion's pre-season schedule.

Maidstone United chief executive Bill Williams said, "Brighton and Maidstone may be leagues apart in the football pyramid but our supporters know all about the dream of a new stadium.

"The Amex has given Albion a whole new lease of life, propelling the club towards the Premier League. Our homecoming will end a 24-year wait for a new, purpose-built facility and start an exciting chapter in the history of this great club."

Albion boss Poyet added, "We are delighted to be invited to play in a friendly to celebrate the opening of Maidstone United's new stadium, and it will be a great venue for us to start our pre-season warm-up campaign.

"We know from our own experiences that these are memorable occasions, and that a new stadium can have a hugely positive effect on a club; I'm sure this will be a day to remember for all those connected with Maidstone United."

Clubs in the Premier League and Championship have been invited to Kent's county town this summer to play at the Gallagher Stadium.

It is the first in the country to be built with a 3G pitch. The state-of-the-art synthetic surface will enable the facility to be used by the club's Ryman League team, their 30+ community teams, as well as other local clubs, businesses, community groups and schools.

It will also be the home of the Maidstone United Academy - a post-16 education centre.

Ticket details will be announced at a later date.

Correct about being first at a new stadium, incorrect about the opponents
