I don't really do RIP threads, TBH I don't see the point of them beyond a specific Albionite or a 'bloody hell' news story.

A lesson I learned during Desert Orchidgate.

The quoted comment referred to half a million children allegedly dying in Iraq as a consequence of UN sanctions. Not murdered.

Typical - assumes he has the high ground and fails to realise that the old classification of left and right is long gone. We have the situation in world politics where it’s all down to populism. Who would have thought that some in the American ‘right’ would quiet quietly endorse putin, one of the last communist …. But decry an Obama care as it’s socialism/communism.

This is so ill-informed it makes my head hurt. Putin is a right-wing, capitalist, nationalist dictator, not a communist one. The west helped him into power partly because they feared a resurgence of communism in Russia after the disastrous Yeltsin years, and trusted him to do whatever it took to stop it.
