MOM performance today. 2 goals and some lovely running. Gross is going to have a hard time unseating him now as he had a decent set play foot too.

Gross shouldn’t ever really start a PL game for us anymore, he’s not good enough and should have been phased out of the side more a couple of years ago.

Mac Allister is a much more effective player for us. He’s an excellent, dynamic footballer and I love watching him play. And thank god he’s on set pieces now and we don’t have to endure Gross’s anymore. Delighted for him.

Just wanted to make my point clear in case it wasn’t the first time. I’m not wrong though, performances speak for themselves recently. Nice Cruyff turns and great first season but since that first season, I’ve never thought the love he gets on here from some was justified.

I could really upset you further and say I also prefer it when we don’t start Duffy.

Isn’t it a bizarre thing that praising a player making an impact requires slating the previous? Gross had his strengths and limitations like any player, not for a second have I thought ‘thank god he’s not in the team so I don’t have to endure him. Really don’t get it. Pre Covid Gross was considered a stop gap target for Liverpool at one point. Now turn on him because someone is better. Weird.

Anyhow, I’d like to suggest The club have managed MacA brilliantly and we’re seeing the impact we’re seeing because he’s been built up behind the scenes and given the mentality and confidence to deal with the PL. It really does take a bit of time. It’s like a switch has gone off in his head and great to see. Credit to the player and staff as we’ve seen plenty not bridge the gap after showing early promise.

I watched the game on Radio Sussex ( a bit boring as all I could see was a silver mesh with some knobs over it ....) but Warren was enthusing about how Ale Mac, having passed out to Veltman then kept on running to receive the knock-down from Maupay. I think we have a genuine mid-field goal-scorer on our hands.

Exactly. He could now go on to play 10+ years in the EPL or any other of the top leagues. I’ll be interested to see his national sides reaction to his current form.

He seems to be predominantly an attacking player.

We don't do that.

He was recruited as exactly that, at the time the press highlighted his attacking prowess.... maybe he has just started to come up to speed, simple as that.
