Not at all. I am VERY proud of my country. Its achievements, its history despite some obvious blemishes in the past.
I am VERY proud of my SERVICE to my country...your flippant little posts, like the quote, in a bid to 'win' a forum debate on NSC, will never change that.

Tell me what is 'Anti English'....as I understand it from your previous 'debates' it means 'Anti Far Right Feckwit'....nothing to do with English.
Why ? you couldn't even hack it in the RAF and left after a few weeks and had to buy yourself out of the navy because byou couldn't hack it there either :lolol:

Deep south
half the blame lies with M&S whilst the other half lies with the muslim cashier.
the polocys should never of stood in the first place, and this not only applies to M&S but to our government aswell. this is not saudia Arabia or any other country.. this is ENGLAND and in england we shouldn't be intimidated in to filling the needs of every other religious belief bar that of our own.
the muslim cashier was at fault because what the heck was she doing at a cashiers desk in the first place when she knows full well alcohol would be passing through it.

My thoughts exactly sometimes pandering to the needs of everyone causes more harm than good. We are a multicultural country and need to respect each others ways and beliefs not take sides. This whole situation could of been avoided if she would just had a quiet word with her supervisor and explained the situation.
Anyway it's Christmas for some of us so peace and goodwill to all of you. I'm off to the pub for beer. Merry Christmas.

We have 8 Jehovah's Witnesses in our store who don't work on Sundays due to their religious beliefs.

I must admit i did not work Sundays for many many years, but my employers knew the situation. I daresay that these 8 were taken on knowing that they would not work on Sundays, if the firm had a problem with that then i daresay that they would not have employed them. Likewise if they were told that Sundays was part of the job, they would have found employment elsewhere.

No back peddling from me at all....Youre right though...I should have put IMO at the end of it, but you hang onto that little nugget, and it can be a victory, and you will feel good ;-)

But keep thinking the country is being swamped with beardies who want to groom your children, change your diet, and execute people on fridays, outbreed the indigenous population, take over the government, and implement sharia law...

anyway...want to go back to what the debate is about yet?....IE M&S and its HR policy for its workers of all faiths?
hardly a little nugget is it , you stated that 1.6 billion Muslims were Muslims 'in name only' , even if it his only in your opinion, your opinion reveals you to be a bit of an idiot.

He said that they should work in another department, both I and it appears M&S agree.

Trouble is the statement said:

'A spokesperson for M&S said that it works closely with employees with specific beliefs that restrict what food or drink they can handle, but on this occasion it had to “regret” that it had not followed its own guidelines.
“Where we have an employee whose religious beliefs restrict food or drink they can handle, we work closely with our member of staff to place them in suitable role, such as in our clothing department or bakery in foods.'

So the bakery serves sausage rolls and other products containing pork, and certain clothing is made of pigskin.........how about errrr household dept.

The world I live in does not let religion dictate my life. If you believe M&S have done the right thing and should allow this sort of thing to happen to any belief then that is your choice but living in a country which is so diverse to other cultures it works both ways and its important tolerance works both ways. I would never ask someone to do anything which is forbidden but I really don't think this is the case in this situation. And judging by the public reaction most feel the same.

The world I live in does not let religion dictate my life either. I'm just of the view that there's an agenda against Muslims that has been perpetrated by the West, and particularly Bush and Blair, supported by the UK press (of whom only one is actually registered here to pay any tax). This makes me extremely wary of jumping on bandwagons directed against minorities (unless its the rich, as they're fair game, because they're targeting a damn good campaign against the poor).

I think the main point is, that it is not against the muslim religion to serve alcohol or pork. The individual that supposedly refused to serve is taking it to the extreme to see how far they could get.

My friend, who is a Muslim, manages to go out regularly and get pissed. I wonder if his friends lift the glass and pour it in his mouth to avoid him touching it. He also enjoys a gamble at the bookies. He is still alive, has not died or become a bad person because he has not done what Allah tells him.

Each to their own when it comes to religion, as long as they keep it to themselves and dont try to push there 'beliefs' on me. At the end of the day that is all it is ' belief' from being brainwashed from a young age like all religion.

These are my opinions and I dont expect you all to agree.

I'm sorry, it's only a minority that are permanently offended after all.

There are a few people on this thread who seem determined to be offended and chuck their toys out of the pram over nothing. They aint Muslims and they aint the right on PC 'brigade' who normally get accused of such things.

They do seem to have an agenda to push though.
