Apologies if already been posted.
Saw this in today's mirror.

Not bad bit of money that , especially if re-invested in the team

Good bit of business even if it's not re-invested in the team. Hope we get to see how he's come on in a competitive match in League 1 next season.

He is worth more than this, we should make sure their are extras once he plays games or is sold on. I bet our youth system has cost 10 times this over the period we have nutured him from a lad into the first team.

I would still rather have him in the team especially if McNulty cannot make a full recovery.

10 times !!!

So it has costs us £2,000,000 to develop Lynch whilst going through our Centre of Excellence !!

Don't think so.

What about the dozens of lads we have invested in that do not make it, in and around his crop, its not just the one players value but the cost to the club. Southampton must have made millions off their centre of excellence.

I accept some of that, but we do get generous annual funding for this.

I happen to think that Joel Lynch would be a far greater asset to the club than selling him for £200,000, however the club nor the player wishes that to happen, so he will be sold.

Ultimately any Academy/Centre of Excellence will be judged on players coming through and playing in the first team and/or players sold on.

I fear that this particularly successful part of our club will now be ignored and just one reason why Wilkins removal is regrettable.

My sentiments as well, short term money that will just be sucked into the accountants speadsheets or a team of young up and coming footballers, I would rather have the young talented player.

Like the Wilkins affair I doubt we will never know the facts.

Unfortunately we are in a very weak bargaining position. Sadly £200-300k is probably going to be a good deal.

Not necessarily. We do still have his contract for another year.

Granted if he returned, it's not known how he would take to being back here or how the new manager would take to him.

It sounds like it depends on just how much Forest want him, unless of course it's already a done deal.

Strange his story really
Last season him and elphick were brilliant and as soon as Deano left he seemed to be unhappyso unbelievable really that Hawkins was chosen over him...
Dissapointing really i thought he showed real promise and i think MA Ruined him...

Was in the Daily Star last week. Possible media chinese whispers...

I would be unhappy if we only got £200,000 for him. He has the potential to be a class partner for Elphick.

I would rather have Lynch alongside Elphick than El Abd, Virgo, Hawkins or Hinshelwood.

I say get him back in the summer, get the new boss to try and work with him and lets see if we can't rescue this situation.

I'd love to see Lynch come back and I still think he might.

When Slade came back, in his first interview he said that we have some excellent young players at this club naming Cox, Lynch, Elphick.

I think we'd have to stay up for him to come back though.

Agreed. A good manager could turn him into a very good (central) defender. And in 2 years he could well be worth closer to £1m. I guess it all depends on the player though, if he doesn't want to come back then we should cash in now.
