It is all a ploy....Ilfill is expensive...Selling Lynch would solve that problem..we have too many centre halves...l, Hinch fit soon..and then we are back at the races. Personally it is a shame as Lynch is an excellent player and I would rather him than Hawkins.

Sad that he wants to go so soon, but still makes the decision to play Hawkins ahead of him look ridiculous, if it's going to mean losing such a great prospect.

Rubbish. Lynch is still only a good prospect and our record so far this season shows that Adams knows what he's doing. He's bought someone in with experience, something that last season we lacked when Butters wasn't in the side. Elphick is far and away better than Lynch and shoud be in the side so it's Lynch that has to wait his turn. If he's going to throw his toys out of the pram as he's not playing then we should get shot. Or he can just knuckle down, work hard in training and fight for his place, like most professionals do.

I'm with algie. Hawkins is 31. He's good for this season, probably next, but beyond that? If we are in the Championship (which is what we're aiming for) I'm not sure he'll be up to it. Lynch, on the other hand, will be.

Lynch MIGHT be - he hasn't yet fulfilled his promise shown a couple of years ago (injuries haven't helped him).

sorry to say but good on him and can't blame him, needs to progres his career and when he can't even get on the bench for a league 1 team something must wrong. Best and most promising centre back we have hope he stays and shows Adams that he should be playing but if he goes will wish him all the best and follow his career up the leagues. Maybe someone bid for him and it was rejected and this is his way of pushing a deal though

lynch

Does seem a bit soon to be trying to get out unless there is something in the background, not really fulfilled the promise shown though so for a decent fee may be worth letting him go

If they thought he was the best centre-back we have, why would they not play him? And if they thought that AND that they could get a big fee for him why would they keep him on the bench/in the reserves?

The only logical answer to that is that they think he is not one of our two best centre-backs at the moment.

There has never been a commercial that makes the point better. It took me a while to find it. I remember recalling this ad during all the Dean Hammond debate last season.

When do we on NSC ever get the full picture? Very rarely indeed I suspect.

But he didn't say that they think he is.

If what Dick Knight said in the fans forum is true that he would not stop a player from leaving then why stop Joel? This is a perfect senario why i do not believe Dick and the things he says - i thought Micky had been brought in because his man management was good

from the argus

"Lynch has scored two goals in 93 appearances for Albion, the latest as a second-half substitute against Bristol Rovers at Withdean 11 days ago, since breaking into the first team in January 2006."

Thanks for clearing this up Andy:)tosser:); I was asleep for most of the second half so missed Lynch's goal and have thought ever since that we'd only scraped a draw.

Some people post as if they know the full picture!

But the club haven't stopped him leaving, they've turned down his transfer request and this is not the same thing.

You obviously haven't read the thread with detail. Dick did say that he wouldn't stop any unhappy player leaving with the proviso that the club got what they thought was a fair offer for the player in question.

No one here knows if this reputed Notts F offer has any truth in it, and if they have made an approach what the correct figure is.

I'll ignore the comment about DK because that has been discussed above, but why is this bad man-management by MA?

Are you saying he should pick Joel to just keep him happy, even though he does not think he is one of our two best centre-backs at the moment?

For all you know, Joel might get on fine with MA and respect his decision not to pick him even if he disagrees with it and doesn't like it. Most players have that situation at some time in their careers and they react as they see fit - work at getting into the first team or ask for a transfer to get first-team football somewhere else. I wouldn't necessarily criticise either of those options, but I don't see how not picking a player automatically means bad man-management.
