Shame, although our batting was as dodgy as ever I reckon we'd have got there in the end. I know the table doesn't lie but to be honest, though, is this team really title-winning material? But then, who cares, champions are champions

Looking at the card for our 2 nd innings , nearly all the top order scored far to slowly. Gnasher, Joyce and Lukey can all score at about a run a ball if they tried. Look at the number of balls faced and you can see the missing 49 runs.

Agree with this. Don't the Club look at the weather forecast ? Everyone knew todays play would be weather hit.

115 runs off 36 overs is far to slow when looking to chase 164 to win. With the rain in mind we should have approached our 2nd innings like a 20/20 run chase - there is very little points difference (4 ?) between losing & drawing. With the Championship at stake they should have gone for it.

I know the table doesn't lie

Of course it does.

What are Lancashire doing in equal bottom position?

Code:
Warwickshire	13	5	1	0	7	0	171
Sussex 14	5	3	0	6	0	159
Nottinghamshire	13	4	1	0	8	0	144
Somerset	13	3	1	0	9	0	137
Durham 14	4	5	0	4	1	127
Middlesex	14	3	4	0	7	0	127
Surrey 13	2	4	0	6	1	102
Lancashire	13	1	4	0	8	0	87

So you are saying " Go gung ho", on a piss poor wicket, which the ECB pitch inspector was inspecting on the first day at lunch time.
Where 25 of the 35 wickets that have fallen, have been to spin.
Go gung ho and we would have taken 5 pts instead of 8, which could prove crucial at the end of the season
Lets be realistic, the weather fuked us, we probably would have won , weather permitting

By the time the Sussex 2nd innings started they knew they were facing a low total and must have known that a large amount of Friday would be lost to rain.

If they had pushed on at that time and scored faster we would have been in control of the game. If we had lost too many wickets we could have dropped anchor knowing we would not have many overs to face on Friday.

Banger and Suppiah showed that was entirely possible in the way they rattled off our 1st innings lead. We have extremely fast scoring players but equally, players who can dig in too. Given the fact that there is little realistic chance of being relegated,at worse, mid-table mediocrity would be our lot, why not take a gamble and back ourselves to have a go ? That's not being gung ho, that's a run chase. This was an opportunity lost.
