Sussex SNIFFING victory here!!!
Hildreth was a big wicket AND NOW ANOTHER....!!!!

In a ridiculous contradiction of my earlier post I am now happy to discuss exactly why professional captains and coaches are so conservative with their declarations... to the layman spectator it does seem that they nearly always delay far beyond the point at which we would happily start trying to win the game.

I knew we would go big as the wicket had seriously flattened out. But batting on after lunch was singularly pointless. Just hope we don't regret it.

Well the last half hour has pretty much ruled out a Sussex defeat. A very strange feeling indeed.

Good Lord, it's FIVE.

Fall of wickets
1-69 (Trescothick, 19.1 ov),
2-75 (Myburgh, 21.2 ov),
3-76 (Hildreth, 22.2 ov),
4-80 (Abell, 23.1 ov),
5-84 (Allenby, 24.1 ov)

It's almost as if Sussex are batting.

Hove (actually)
With Hants capitulating to Worcester and Notts on course for 12-13 points in their game, picking up these last 5 wickets would be a big boost for Sussex. A draw would probably leave us in the bottom 2?
