Do me a favour, they're a couple of non league teams, one based a couple of hundred miles away and who were at Wembley last week. Luton have about 30,000, it should also be pointed out. They may be a tinpot club from an awful town, but that support is as good as we took to Cardiff for the play off final.
Not every club is going to sell out their Wembley allocation: where on earth do you think a team like York is suddenly going to find 20,000 more supporters from??
I was offered tickets in the Luton end, a mate of mine (Man City supporter (no, really, he was at the League 1 play-off final)) works for EasyJet and he was given a few complimentary tickets, as were a lot of his colleagues. I wonder how many of their support paid for the pleasure of seeing them.
Naturally, I turned it down. I only want to go to Wembley with Brighton, also, I was hoping Luton would get stuffed 6-0. I'll take 2-1, congrats Luton.
Ninja, I think you will find the same proportion of day trippers in most team's followings for Wembley days out. Are you really suggesting that the great majority there today did not see themselves as Luton fans? They have tripled their average home gate of 7-8 k as we did in 1991.
Best team won today, more's the pity
