Crap Town
On Tuesday, I didn't hear any chants of "You've got a town full of faggots" from the Luton fans or any chants of "You're just a small town in Delhi" from our fans. The banter was almost civilised.
I heard a rendition of "do you fancy Elton John ?" in the 1st half when watching the game on TV.

Don't Mention The War
Been having a good nose at your opinions on here, and have a few things to say so thought I'd join up and have a brief chat.

First off - the sky tv box? Its standard, we have nowhere else to put it in our ground, the boxes aren't big enough to house one, and were not allowed to put a camera on the top of them. We rarely get camera's these days, but when we do and did (mainly in the Championship seasons), we always had 3 or 4 (the fourth being up in our home end behind the goal, dead cetnre, taking up the same number of seats). It brings us much, much more money than the fans were losing out on, and those fans will be able to watch it on the TV anyway.

I'd like to congratulate you however, it was brilliant to see our away end full and rocking. Gave us something to compete with, and I think we did a good job of it. Were too big for the conference, and won't see crowds like that again unless its a cup game, until we get into league one again. Hopefully back-to-back promotions. Best away support we've had at the Kenilworth all season.

I went home and away, and thought your fans were excellent at home also, even if the police did get too heavy handed (filming, shoving, constant 'no' answer to questions that should have been yes etc). Second time I've been to your stadium, and i'm glad we came to the Kenny for second leg, I didn't fancy running the 400 metre's to get onto the pitch!

On another serious note - don't feel offended by our pitch invasion, we came over for a bit of banter, and believe me - after the 4 or 5 rucks with police and breaking through there lines this season already - if we wanted hassle we'd have gone for you. It was just a laugh, and I'm sorry so many of you took it so badly after you tried to applaude us. I was one of those onto the pitch, and you were the subjects of 3 or 4 seasons of pure frustration, anger and hatred towards the FA, FL and Previous ownerships coming out. I've never felt happier as a Luton fan knowing i'm going to Wembley, never been to the old or new one before and vowed only to go there if Luton played there (due to FA/FL punishments this year).

Wembley is going to be a great day for us all, and regardless of the result in the final, I already feel brilliant. Were going to take around 30,000 I'd have thought, and theres going to be mass protests at the stadium itself, soho square pre and post match, and maybe other places. Were busy coming up with various mass protest idea's currently, and it should bring in revenue left, right and centre for the club. It should mean the losses we suffer from fallign out of the league, almost inevitably, will mean we break even or make a profit from the year due to this trip.

And just to clear up - I read the other day on here that were "going out of business soon anyway"... we've never been on such sound financial footing. I'm not saying were chelsea, but nothing could be further from the truth. I hope no club other than MK Dongs (I hate them with a passion, no history), go out of business altogether. Make sure you give them a drubbing for us!

And gettign beaten by Scunthorpe? You never know, footballs a funny ol' game. We've beaten about 4 teams in higher divisions to us this season now. Plymouth (H, Carling), Colchester (H), Walsall (A), You (H). We have always played better against better teams, and even beat brentford on penalties at home, and there flying.

Sorry about the long post, and any spelling errors. Hopefully its weeded out any people that are going to make silly replies. I wish you all the best in your survival bid, and I'm sorry you didn't get to Wembley, but we need this more than you! I'll check back for any replies, and reply where necessary or wanted.

All the best.

Top post. At the start of the season, my heart felt for you and still does even now. I hope you have a good day out at Wembley and really take the fight to FA/FL and really make your names known. I don't see you winning JPT through.....

I meant no offence by the 'keyboard warrior' antics. It was merely trying to point out that at times this year, such as shrewsbury away, bradford at home, bradford away... we're only too happy to scrap. Every club has it's morons, every club has members they are proud to have in the crowds each week. From what i've read on here - its proved me correct. Some well thought out responses, positive or negative, which I can quite happily accept. I didn't expect this thread to be all nice, and expected the nasty responses. Fair enough, all entitled to your opinions.

However - those who are "you deserved your 30 points"... most don't actually know in-depth what happened? Fans, players and current staff are being punished because of the actions of former directors - 5 in total - who walked away with taps on the wrist. Fines collectively, between 5 men who made 16 million pounds from player sales that has gone with them away from the club, that added up to little over £2,000. And told not to return to a directors position inside football for 1 or 2 years. Is that REALLY correct for the FA/FL to punish them like that, and the agents involved getting poor punishments also, and then wacking the club with an additional 10 points and a £50,000 fine. Ideally, it should have been a suspended punishment, or part suspended. We have to run everything our club does through the football league for 2 years, so signings take extra long to sign and we may miss deadlines. On the Saturday in August that the season began, we only had 7 players on our books. Thats just a small insight, and it does wind me up at the arrogance and assuming of some people. And I know they'll always be people who scorn and hate because its Luton. We have a bad reputation.

The town is a shitheap, if I want to go shopping I don't go to Luton. I refuse to go there other than for football. I don't believe in going to Wembley for the cretins who jump on the band wagons etc, I believe in those 5 or 6 thousand who have stuck around to watch us. But lets cart the other mugs to Wembley and make some money.

However - after my long whinge (apologies), thankyou for your well wishes, nice to see some people appreciate the game. And I just want to say to Taybha - report that to the club. I can understand throwing 50p's at some twit of a ref (awaiting criticism on this point) who blatantly gives a game to someone e.g. the Bradford at home game a few weeks back. But If I saw anyone, Luton fans or other teams fans, throw a coin, phone, bottle etc. at a group of people undeservedly, especially when there are children present like this game was due to have due to u17's getting in free, I'd be more than happy to confront them/report them/get into fisticuffs. Its not right.

I thought there was some good banter with Brighton fans during the game. Like I say, best away support we've had this year by far. You've done your club proud, I hope your get your managerial issues sorted, and I hope you stay up. I had a good chat with a lot of Brighton fans when I came down there for the first leg, and I do feel sorry for you lot losing your ground and playing at the withdean, poor management, one of your chairmen/directors is a bit of a spindoctor and will say anything to keep the fans happy and not deliver (might have got that wrong, no other fan mentioned it except one!)

And correct - we did draw with you twice, apologies. I don't want to get into the "who deserved to win" debate, because I'll say us, you'll say you, and we'll embark on more pointless namecalling.

Good luck for this season.

Fair play to you for coming here & being a rival supporter with your head screwed on. Your side were better than us & deserved to get to Wembley, end of. Best of luck against, ahem, 'Thorpe' & enjoy the day - whatever the result.

Why?

The could well be where they end up, the Conference tend to be more stringent than the league, hence Boston now being in the Northern League.

But we won't? Your trying to stir things up unneccesarily (sp?) and it's making you look immature and spiteful, even to your own fans. I came here with attitude towards giving you lot grief, as I don't mind brighton as a town or club. I don't look for your results each week, but theres no animosity between us I don't think. Seems liek a few people would like it that way...

Nice to see the majority are respectful posts though. To be honest, I'm not expecting us to beat Scunthorpe. I think our best chance is trying to hold them for penalties, playing perhaps like we did against you. Its just nice to get to Wembley. Anything extra is a bonus.

On the original, quoted, post... We won't be going anywhere other than the Blue Square Premier/Conference next season if we do go down. This has been checked and verified by all it needs to be. We will have money not seen in the conference before, and i'm not saying it will be millions, or even hundreds of thousands each time we buy a player, but our hardcore element of fans of around 5000 will be about 2 or 3 times bigger than the richest clubs budget currently there. And I will enjoy next season, just to have a season with no points deductions and no fans being punished for the injustice of others.

Good luck to you. Enjoy your day out at Wembley. Of course I wish it had been us but it was not to be. You played better than what we did and deserved the win. I wish we had a player of the calibre of Tom Craddock (and now you'll probably say he's not your best player !!!)

If it had been anyone other than Brighton playing Luton, I would have been right behind Luton. I would have been willing them on, I think your banner saying, "The FA and FL, killing small clubs since 1992" was spot on, they picked on your club because they could and it wasn't fair, it isn't fair, in the present tense. I am gutted about how the game went, and what happened after it, but I have nothing against Luton and in fact I know a girl going to watch you in the final. I wish you all the best and I hope to see Luton Town back in the football league soon.

Also, mr Luton fan, alot of the people on here are idiots, in my opinion. Please don't consider them to be reprsentative of Brighton fans in general, we aren't all like some on here.

Just like to thank all Luton fans for the 60 pence I recieved during the pitch invasion at Kenilworth road on tuesday night. Amongst the crowd i spotted a silver coin flying through the air and maraculously I managed to pluck it out the air, only to be dissapointed when i looked down to see a 10 pence piece, i would have expected more from the Luton fans who are now a relatively rich club i believe. But, i was in luck, just as we turned our backs to leave i spotted another piece of shining silver on the floor, a fifty pence piece! I pocketed both coins and headed back to the coach, never even contemplating returning the coins to their rightful owners, somewhere in the gaggle of wailing Luton fans. A reccession busting 60 pence, and it reduced the whole price of the trip by 10%, from £6 to £5.40. Remarkable, what generosity from the Luton fans, i bet they wouldn't have been so generous if we would have won.

Thanks again.
