Luton deducted 20 more points

If teh league want to relegate a club for going into administrartion, they should just do that.

By starting with -30 what does that do?

It relegates them with out the complications of who takes their place or the other clubs missing a fixture.

Utter, utter disgrace. The fans of Luton have been fleeced by their board, who sold their best players for peanuts and then invested none, just took it out as repayments on loans (sound familiar ? ). Now the FL have waded in when the board and people responsible for a) the agents problems and b) the current financial mess have gone, and kicked the very people trying to save a respected historical club. What really sucks is that they allow MK (Franchise FC) Dons just up the road to destroy Wimbledon, they give Leeds 15 points (not 20).

I thought Leeds deduction wrong, even though I hate Bates with a passion, but at least there was a slight justification as the board at the time (including Bates) were making money out of the deal. Luton directors are not, yet they get stung more, and the fans who have no say or power are the ones that get punished.... I cannot see Luton surviving, I don't think they'll be any fight in them.

They basically have their reserve squad left and will come bottom....

As they are already in the bottom division of the FL presumably there would need to be some agreement with the Conference to allow them in before they had been relegated. After all te Conference would have to work out whom wouldreplace Luton first. . Don't suppose either league would be able to do that at the start of the season so Luton will stay pemanently rooted to the bottom until they are relegated.

Why not just deduct them 6 points per season for the next 5 seasons if they deserve this at all?

With thought I think this is completely unjust so I've just emailed the following to the football league ( after all it could have happened to us !!! ) :

To whom it might concern,

I am a supporter of Brighton and Hove Albion who has been a fan for over 30 years. I have to raise my absolute disgust at the unjust treatment that you have decided to use against Luton Town FC. It would appear that Football League Executives live in an ivory tower with no contact with the outside world.

The penalties you have placed on Luton Town are completely unjust and unfair as the people soon to run the club are not the people who broke the rules. As a Brighton fan I find it ironic that so call football authorities have once again failed true football fans. Brighton fans received no support from football authorities in hour of need and now Luton have received even worse treatment. It is not the future owners fault, nor indeed Luton Town fans fault yet you seem to believe it necessary to punish them for other peoples faults. You should be punishing the people who are really guilty – the past board of directors. Unfortunately you appear too stupid to realise this.

How about making club directors give personal deposits or is that to clever for you ??

Your salaries are effectively paid by football fans across the country yet you clearly do not have the fans interest at heart – YOU are a disgrace to the sport of football. Note I use the word SPORT – unfortunately you seem to think this is a business.

I DEMAND THAT YOU REVOKE TO POINT DEDUCTION FOR LUTON TOWN.

I’ve no doubt that I will get some crap reply along the lines of “it’s the rules”, “it’s our right” or even worse “we don’t comment on individual cases” but I still hold you responsible for the death of football clubs in this country.
