One more for your list Suters Yard. Laid back and informal place to eat. Nice wine decent beer, reasonable prices. If you are looking for table cloths and waiter service, probably not your first choice.

Beach House is also very good, but rarely mentioned by the locals. I guess it can be a little pricey.

Into the Blue is my number one, but in Shoreham, but a bit cut off from the town right now with no footbridge.

Beach House do the best breakfast bar none in Shoreham. It does not open until 1000 though. Is always my pre football stop on a Saturday before the train.

I've had breakfast in the Beach House before and really was not that impressed by it. It was nice but I expected a lot more for the price.

If you've read the menu, you'll know that wherever possible they use locally sourced artisan produce, it's not your average greasy spoon, and reflectd in the price. I'd much rather pay more for decent quality food rather than something that's as cheap as possible

You forgot two things overheads and need to make a profit to stay in business.

Oh I also forgot supply and demand

Its local produce, well cooked, healthily cooked and you dont have to share the eating experience with greasy track-suited chavs and smelly white man van... so the price is about right. I have had an evening meal there, it was great.

I've only eaten there once and it was nice. Maybe I was just expecting too much.
