Personally, I think he comes off as being a bit of a twat. He gets offered a call up and he rejects it and then retires! Who cares? It's LUKE YOUNG, not Ashley Young! He's an average right back who was being called up for cover, his retiring from International football is both unncessarry, and unbelievable!

??? We have no idea what the reasons are.

I don't understand why ANY time ANY player puts in a transfer request, or turns something down, immediately they MUST be a c**t and there couldn't possibly be anything more to it.

His brother died a couple of weeks ago, it might be something to do with that. The point is none of us have a clue.

Perhaps once we know ANY of the facts, we can make a judgement then?

E.g.

Jamie Carragher - his reasons for quitting england = prat.
Paul Scholes - his reasons for quitting england = not a prat.

People will get angry about anything nowadays.

He retired ages ago, and just hasn't changed his mind. Why is him being an average right-back reason to get annoyed? He is average, as are Brown and Johnson, but they're the best English right-backs at the mo

Where's that come from? When did you meet him?

He's an unimportant player making a big dramatic decision to quit international football, despite not being wanted for the last 4 years and only winning 7 caps. He was hardly an important player and to quit international football in this way is just ridiculous. I'm sure he has his reasons, but I don't really care about them.

Big dramatic decision? It's a news article. He was called up, the press obviously need to explain why he rejected the call up. Right now he would be a useful option in the squad, rather him than Wes Brown any day.

In this way? In what way? What do you think he's done, called a massive press conference on the moon? Or are you just talking gubbins?

Oh do f*** OFF. He retired ages ago, it's only come out now because it wasn't announced at the time. He's been on leave from Villa after the possible murder of his brother and only just made a starting comeback for Villa on saturday.

Personally, I think someone on this thread has come across as a bit of a twat. Who cares what you think? Your NINJA ELEPHANT, not Uncle Spielburg. Your an average poster and your opinions on every subject in a very matter of fact way is both unncessarry, and unbelievable!

Starting reading this thread and was going to post something but seems 99% have already made the same or similar comments about Ninja Elephant. So I won't repeat them, just endorse them.

So you're saying that US' opinion is important?

Brilliant.
