BBC Breakfast had a long live interview this morning with Hancock and also Jason ‘Pineapple On His Head’ Lee. I think Hancock may also have been a writer for the mid-90’s Baddiel & Skinner Fantasy Football League, which featured that song. Hancock genuinely regretted both send ups. Far more insensitive times for comedy?

Did you spot Hancock's calendar? It was still on April .... meow!

I found this sad and poignant reading on the BBC website today.

Luke Chadwick, a 'running joke' on the BBC series They Think It's all Over because of his appearance used to live in dread of the show coming on the TV and made him not want to go out. Fair play to Luke Chadwick speaking out, and fair play also to the host, Nick Hancock, saying how appalled he is with himself. I can't recall with any certainty all these years later, but chances are I was probably sat at home laughing along at the jokes too. :(

It's great he has called this out, so many people love to join the masses and stick the boot in, sheep mentality.

We have the same on nsc with regular attacks on posters, ironically there are people giving you the thumbs up that dish out that treatment.

Must have been horrible for the poor little lamb.....playing football for a living for the biggest club in the world, no doubt earning a serious wedge. Looking back now its a wonder he coped!

And the award for the most 19th Century post goes to Arthur. Most on here are aware that first and foremost, footballers are human beings. Have you forgotten the likes of Garry Speed, our own Justin Fashanu, Alan Davies who played against us in the cup final, and a bit further back, Dave Clement of QPR and England fame. They all committed suicide. There are host of footballers that, more recently, have been wiling to discuss their mental health issues.

However, you ignore all that and crack on!!!

I missed that.

I do normally have a nose, they want people to. It’s a standing joke that celebs/‘personalities’ in their home TV interviews line up intellectual books from philosophers, statesmen, books about the arts etc. Or a book they’re plugging eg Martin Lewis.

I've regularly attacked your views in NSC. I've never attacked you personally. There is a difference.

Well there we go, which pain hurts you most, physical or mental?

If you ask Chadwick, I know what he would say.

Bit rich coming from the bloke who was involved in the group bullying of another poster on here simply because you disagreed with his opinion only a few days back.

So I shall crack on, suggest you do the same.

Bullying? And which thread was that then?

You and a couple of the other usual suspects ganged up on a chap because he posted an article from the Daily Mail about teachers. Appeared to be for no other reason than the source of the article.

But quite frankly its neither here nor there, my point still stands. Chadwick was no doubt earning a bucket load of money, playing for the biggest club in the world and someone on telly called him ugly. Quite frankly the bloke needs to grow a set. Regardless of whether he is a human being or not he is in a privileged position earning a lot of money you open yourself up for a bit of gentle micky taking (the exact same has happened to Dowie, Phil Jones, Rooney and probably many others).

What has ‘privilege,’ as you term it, or how how much someone earns, got to do with a person’s mental health? Your earlier post and this one are appalling on so many levels. You are a man apparently utterly lacking in basic human empathy or understanding.

I am mindful of the story of a bloke standing on the terraces watching a football match when he decided he'd had enough of the bloke (standing next to a boy) behind him giving one of the players absolute dogs abuse - way beyond what was reasonable.

He turned around and said "do you mind, that's my son you're talking about"

The bloke shouted back "he's an overpaid f**k**g c**t, and I've paid my money so I'll shout what I like at him"

The dad then points to the boy and asks "Is that your son?"

"Yes, why?"

"Here's 20 quid - watch out for the spittle as I scream at him won't you?"

As usual NSC's right wing showing massive snowflake tendencies and hypocrisy.

Perhaps we should stop using the “SEGW” acronym.

Perhaps we should just stop telling the truth? Comedy has always had victims, be it geographical based stereotypes (tight Scots), mother’s-in- law, blonde women, middle aged men in sports cars, Volvo drivers, whatever. Stereotypes exist for a reason, there is an element of truth in them, however small.

The pineapple hair cut was, and still is, silly.

He got called ugly on telly. If that has caused him mental health issues then he needs to have a word with himself as I'm sure he's been called a lot worse from the terraces over the years especially given the nose dive his career took.

If anything it probably did him a favour. I'm sure there are plenty of lads who have come through United's infrastructure and haven't quite made it that nobody ever remembers. Jason Lee as previously mentioned on the thread albeit not United is a perfect example. Everyone will remember him for Fantasy Football. I couldn't tell you where he went on to ply his trade post Forest

As usual NSC's right wing showing massive snowflake tendencies and hypocrisy.

Not sure how I've shown snowflake tendencies far from it. I'm moaning about his. And as for being hypocrisy well remember this thread next time you are bawling someone out on the terraces or on here for that matter.
