I don't know. He doesn't make any worse mistakes than the others at times. Someone said that because people expect it then they look for his mistakes rather than watching for any good moves. That then reinforces their beliefs.

This is true, however he makes more of them.

I think he comes in for an unfair bit of stick because people are looking for him to make a mistake but surely that mentality has to come from somewhere and I would suggest its because he does make mistakes regularly. Also apart from when Coppell was here he has actually got worse rather than better.

Have a look at the Nathan Jones thread. Lord B has put a link to a thread which contains comments on a game in the Championship under McGhee where Mayo played.

Most people in the squad but together, Robinson is the only one I think that makes more.

El-Abd makes some ricks sometimes but at least him and Robinson are young.

Hinsh, Butters, Lynch, Rents, Hammond, Bertin, Cox, Reid etc....

Harsh very harsh but I suspect you're biased.
It's a good job the last several managers (who have all selected him) didn't feel the same way.

You suspect I'm biased? Where did you come up with that idea Columbo?

What am I looking for in that other thread?

McGhee had Harding or Lynch in ahead of him.

Read the link that Lord B posted - it goes back to Feb 2005. Mayo was keeping Harding out of the team.

Actually Yorkie I am quite annoyed you have dropped that bias thing in there. It taints me in this debate with an accusation you have no proof for at all.

How many of the 11 do you reckon have this DK masterstroke written into their new contracts?...

Mayo will still be here when he's 50!!!

:jester:

Loyalty is the wrong word.

A player's only loyal cos nobody else comes in with an offer for him.

Mayo isn't loyal. He's just INEPT AND INERT.

Tom, we've already covered this. Kerry has turned down other clubs.
