I'm resigned to Ally Mac going. I love him as a player and frankly as a human but I just hope it's done quickly now. I don't want a long drawn out saga, it's a rip the plaster off situation. Liverpool or man city or whoever just pay the money and get your player.

As for Caicedo I realise he could go but I'm still not convinced there is anyone currently willing/able to pay the money we would accept. Not that that will stop endless speculation. If he does go I think it'll be with De Zerbi's blessing in that he'll feel we will have a suitable player lined up to replace him.

ManC - a couple of centre midfielders leaving this summer.
Manure - Caicedo’s light years ahead of McTomathug and Casemiro gets injuries/suspensions.
Arsenal - Xhaka’s reportedly returning to Germany and Partey was dreadful in many of the bad recent results. They’ll need more than Rice.

Anyone else finding Roberto’s constant comments that Moises and Alexis deserve to be playing at a higher level a little annoying?

Yes I get that selling players on for a big profit is our model and that we don’t pay anywhere close to quite a few other PL teams, BUT how much of a higher level can they play next season? Liverpool bound Alexis (allegedly) will be playing in exactly the same competitions as us next season, so there are currently only 4 English teams at a higher level than us.

I know RDZ is very open and honest in interviews and long may that continue but I’d rather he‘d stop effectively labelling us a small team in interviews, even if we are
If you admit you are not as 'big' as Man U that doesn't make you a 'small' club. Have a think about that while you are driving around in your massive expensive car this morning.

Corrected for you

Telling fans and the world that your players deserve better than you can offer doesn’t sit well with me, even if it’s true. Once again each to their own

Mac Allister has reportedly said that his next club will play in the Champions Lge, and next season that won’t be Liverpool. So I’m interested to see where he possibly goes, or if the CL intent has to be retracted ‘because it’s Liverpool’.
Its frustrating to read RDZ’s comments as they feel a little barbed against the club, but this is what Brighton do and is all part of the sustainability - he knows that
It‘ll be a shame to lose any 1st team players this summer, but it’s inevitable…..

The PL top 4 last year contained Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham. They’re not destined to out of the CL after next season where we’ll have 5 clubs in the competition. It’s very likely a one season blip. Liverpool and Chelsea remain a huge attraction to quality players, whilst Tottenham were a lure to Bentacur and Kulusevski.

Mac Allister’s options are far more than just Newcastle, Arsenal, City and Manure.

There is £100m. Why do we have to sell Moises, 21 years old ?

We have to sell him, because he wants to be sold.

There’s no use in burying our heads in the sand and refusing to see the obvious. We saw in Jan that if a bigger club comes in for him, Moises wants to go.

So all you can do at this point is sell him for the best money you can and make the best of it.

Dahoud isn’t our player yet and nobody knows how he will cope in the PL.
Moder out for a year and not been seen in training for a month .
Lallana. Injured half the year.
Ayari. Taken off at half time yesterday as not up to it.
Kozlowski. Not kicked a ball in the PL.
You could easily be the chap behind me yesterday. He constantly slagged off Ayari and Buonanotte. Moaned about us playing it out from the back. In the end, very unlike me I gave him some verbals to shut the f*** up.

Teams at a higher level with massive international fan bases, mega sponsorship deals, super rich owners etc can afford to pay its players £150k+ a week compared to Brighton who pay on average for a first team player circa £50k to £60k per week to enable the club to run sustainably.

Footballers have short careers and if Mac can earn £7.5m next year instead of £2.5m, then he is off. Same as any player who is capable of playing for an established top team with high EUFA co-efficient ratings gained through regularly playing at a higher level in European competitions. Next year Liverpool in pot 1 for Europa League. Brighton in pot 3. There is a reason for that
Brighton COULD pay astronomical salaries, but we’d fall foul of FFP. Financial Fair Play is a mechanism to protect the football establishment as much as safeguard civic assets from unscrupulous/idiot owners.

I agree apart from the reasons he gave last time were dealt with. He signed a new contract to 2027 with a years option for the club. We are now in a far better position than in December, not only that he is under a better contract but what we offer next season and Europe. Tony's hand is even stronger than the one he turned 70m down for. He will probably go but for eye watering amounts. We sell in a position of extreme strength compared to previously.

I read this as RDZ and the club not singing from the same hymn sheet.

RDZ is sticking up for his players. He wants them to trust him absolutely and so is talking for them and their interests. But crucially, he won't decide who is going to go and for what price. Tony and Paul will set the terms of any departure.

And fans of any club who think they are getting our best players for a cut down price is going to be disappointed

Judging by Macca tears at end of game of course he's going. The real shame is that he's not going abroad for big money. Not having to face him in another club's colours would ease the pain. Ditto for Moises.

Moving off topic I'm far more hopeful we might somehow get Colwill. The Chelsea faithful think that over the last few days he's disrespected his parent club. I also think they and the idiot Yank owner are still too focussed on big name superstars regardless of that plan having been proven to be flawed.
I’d have been more confident if Pochettino wasn’t going there. Sadly he’s not an idiot.

MacAlister has 3 years left on the contract he singed just before the WC, does he not?
Yes but he only signed that with some assurances he could go in return for preserving his value and a big pay rise for 6 months

Top work. Using EUFA co-efficent rating. Something hardly any of us would have had a clue about until recently let alone use it in a constructive manner. (y) (y) (y) (y)

I think Mac is nailed on to go to Liverpool, £70m-ish. Cracking player but I think he can be replaced far easier than Caicedo. Moises will be massively missed and should command a much bigger transfer fee.
As others have said, I'm not going to get stressed about it this window. Whatever happens, happens.
This season has been one that we will remember for a very long time and Europe will provide us with even more amazing memories.
I 100% trust the club to find even more hidden gems and kick on. Next season is going to be a corker!

OK. Can you PM me a PDF of his contract. I must have missed it.

It’s the only logical explanation why he signed it then. Otherwise he could have just done a Bissouma and walked cheaply this summer

Would much rather lose Mac as he definitely seemed to drop off once all the speculation started up.
Caciedo's form didn't really suffer at all after the Arse trying to tempt him in January

Tony Bloom's problem is that you cannot keep raising the bar for the targets you set the club whilst simultaneously selling 2 or 3 of your best players every season.

Furthermore, we're selling those players to the Big 6, thus reducing our chances of European qualification.

When Mac and Moises broke into the side they were international players improving a lower mid table side. This next crop need to break into a top 6 side competing in Europe, so more pressure on them and the coaches.

So all you can do at this point is sell him for the best money you can and make the best of it.
And there I was thinking that, because I support B&HA and Moises currently plays for B&HA, he'll have the same affinities for B&HA as I do and will want to show his commitment and loyalty to the club, and turn down wages three or four times as high as we can offer, alongside the opportunity to play CL football.
I will also ignore three further clear facts:
-- B&HA's model is to develop players and staff and not stand in their way when a better financial and/or footballing package comes their way
-- Moises put in a transfer request in January
-- RDZ has said on multiple occasions that Moises is likely to be off this summer (and not in January)
