From elsewhere on the site:
Albion are weighing up whether to throw Wayne Bridge to the Wolves.
Boss Gus Poyet is torn between restoring Bridge at left-back for relegation-haunted Wanderers’ visit to The Amex on Saturday (12.45pm) or saving the former England international for the play-offs.
Bridge was rested along with defensive midfielder Liam Bridcutt from the 2-1 win at Leeds which clinched a Championship play-off spot for Albion.
Poyet said: “He didn’t recover well from last week (against Blackpool). If it was a final he was playing. Because it wasn’t a final we couldn’t take a risk.
“We know he is going to be fine for the play-offs. Let’s see if he can play on Saturday. It would be nice if Bridgey can play to check himself and be ready for the play-offs.”

 If Palace don't win tonight, he's not playing.

Reading all of that makes you wonder just why did the club have to put up with so much cack before the could build a stadium, next to the railway and A27, on the site of a dilapidated university buildings.

Me neither. The stadium capacity is restricted to just under 28,500 for season 2012/13 by a condition of the "expansion" planning consent due to concerns about whether the transport management system/plan/arrangements etc can actually cope with 30,750 atm. When the Falmer station improvements and Coldean/Moulsecombe cpz's are up and running (ie next season) hopefully speeding station throughout and improving the traffic flows, particularly in Coldean Lane, then the we'll be ok provided the Highways Agency is happy. To relax this planning condition atm should require a variation to the consent but, as you say, there is no evidence on the BHCC online system of such an application having been submitted.

The sensible idea is to use this game as a "dry run" for next season regardless of what league we will be in. It will then give all the authorities and "stakeholders" 3 months to iron out any potential problems.

Unless the club announce the amount of people actually in the ground, which would likely still be under 28,500?
