what is the longest you have stayed awake, be it naturally or forced....

i ask as we are currently making a documentary on sleep deprivation in which from 6 yesterday morning my friend has tried to stay awake for 72 hours.

i am sort of his pace setter by sticking with him for the time being, meaning me and him currently are at nearly 31 hours awake now. i expect i will drop and leave him to it tommorow morning.

as we go along we are testing the common ideas of staying awake, last night we drank about 10 black coffees each, though my farts FUCKNG STINK this morning so onto the red ball now.

what can keep someone awake? we are now briniging in smelly herbal remedies(no not that kind).

stuff like coffee and red bull are gonna get you all hyper, then you'll be knackered after the come down, and will want to sleep!

I was up for about 42 hours once.

I've heard that you can only live for 3 days without sleep as sleep is food for the brain.

I suffer from insomnia quite often and my longest period to date was (believe it or not) nine days. The worst thing is that you have no strength and you stagger about like a drunk without the pleasure of getting that way.

im slurring already. im a awakeness-NOVICE.

reckon tonights staying awake(even with poker) will be a challenge. we found from 3 to about 6 was difficult as nothing is on tv at all and my body was demanding either alcohol or sleep...

I did 7am on a Friday to about 3am on a Monday morning last summer, it was pretty much completely drug fuelled all the way through from the satdi evening onwards.

So drugs, they work.

About 50-odd hours. Missing a night of sleep without booze or much entertainment is EASY! Missing two nights is far harder. Would like to try to beat that, but I work so....

You be well cool.

Did 3 days once due to Uni deadlines. On the third day I had about half a pint to celebrate handing my dissertation in and I was barely able to talk. Feel asleep lying face down on the end of my mates bed.

I've got an eight month old baby I can lend you?

I pulled some long stints while Anastasia was poorly but not as long as others on this thread.

undrugged, i have done around 52 hours, which resulted in me passed on my girlfriend of the times sofa, after promising her a romantic evening

60 hours

54 hours of traveeling by train from LOndon to Dubrovnik, including having to lay on the floor outside a Yugoslavian train toilet, since ther was just no otheer place on the train.

In one carriage, it was stuff full of passengers and I do not lie - a sheep!

Later I found out if we had paid a £1 extra we could have travelled first class and got free Tea.

Oh YEAH, I must have done quite a stretch whilst interailing, sleeping on train FLOORS is well hard. I was constantly tired during that 5 weeks.

Meopham, Kent.
Coming home from honeymoon in Sri Lanka, we flew out of Columbo at about 6am, which meant setting off from our hotel about 1am, so, having woken about 8am the previous morning, I'd been awake 22 hours by the time we flew.

I never sleep on planes, despite it being about a 10 hour flight, then with Sri Lanka being about 5 hours ahead of us, I got home to Kent about 4pm (equivalent of 9pm in Sri Lankan time) so by then I'd been awake for 37 hours.

However, we were at home to Hull City that night, and despite it being early September by then, I was yet to see an Albion game all season due to wedding / honeymoon etc, so I was determined to make the game.

Drove down (yes, that did involve a lot of caffeine / loud music and windows open to keep me properly focussed) for the game, we won 3-0, and I drove back home, getting in about 11.30pm, and was in bed, fast asleep by about midnight.

All in all that was 45 hours awake, 1000's of miles of travelling, and a Brighton home game. Marvellous. I slept for about 2 days!!!
