my paltry 18 months won't even make the top 40 pop pickers,I'd imagine

been in France for 10 years now

but always came back a couple of times a year

the Albion,few pints game of snooker

starting to miss the old place

must be a few stories out there

what's the longest period you have spent away from blighty?

and of course,intend to go back sometime

A summer on the Algarve in ‘87. Was meant to be working, but just enjoyed myself.

I've just moved back but previously been living abroad for around 7 years. Longest time in that without returning to the UK was around 2 years, and I tell you upon return, Queens Road, Peckham, seemed like the Bond Street. Smashed a few ciders in a local and then onto the bloke round the corner selling jerk chicken out of an oil drum. July 2018 I believe it was, good times in South East London

Now back in Brighton (Hove, actually)

20 months - June 2001-Feb 2003 spent working down under. One of the greatest times of my life but gutted to miss out on so much of Zamora. First game back was a 4-1 demolition of Wolves.

Fortunately missed the 5-0 at Selhurst. I was off my tits in a nightclub in Melbourne at the time. I’m sure it was character building for those who were there

Lived in Sweden for 3 and half years and was able to come back regularly. Covid ended that though, wasn’t able to visit between January and October, by far the longest time away in one go.

I spent 3 years in Asia, based in Vietnam, without returning. Since being back in Europe, I tend to get home a couple of times a year but obviously Covid has scuppered that. August 2019 was the last time.
