Mr Buck!! I shocked and appalled by your memory!! You are usually so blinking good at remember stuff.

I think you'll find it was Grantham V HASTINGS

Do you not remember the "one team in Sussex" banter we had with the 3 Hastings fan there?

Also was the day of the Grand National if memory recalls and we got a lift back into town from the Grantham chairman.

Cracking day out!

Of course it was Hastings, bit of a mistype.

Oh and the Chelsea fans on the way home...

Never been to an away game thats been called off. Went to Orient a few years back only to arrive at half time due to traffic, and wasn't let in. A bit odd that, as it was all ticket, and I had one, but wasn't allowed in because the away end was full.

we flew from egypt, where we lived at the time to milan then into london. train from london to leeds. joined up with the official tour and flew to moscow. it was -22c and of course the game was postponed.

ridsdale gave us £150 as compensation for that disastrous jolly.

Same as a few others (all trips from Sussex)

A v Hull - already got to Hull so across the bridge and went to Scunthorpe v Southend
A v Mansfield - went to Hucknall v Lancaster
A v Halifax - went to Grantham v Hastings first time, got to Halifax 2nd time for the midweek game
A v Norwich when the floodlights failed
A v Bristol Rovers last night

I also recall a Newcastle away, our coach had only just got passed London, we came home and watched the Rugby in the pub.

I also went to Scotland when Lady Di died and the Rangers v Celtic and Kilmarnock v somebody matches got called off so we saw just one game instead of three!

Newcastle away in 91 - got to St James Park and it was called off because of snow.

Not called off exactly but went for a week in Amsetrdam with the intention of taking in an Ajax game in the UEFA Cup only to find out having turned up at the ground intending to get in early, to find that the UEFA had closed the ground because of crowd trouble and the game had been moved to Dusseldorf in Germany.

Went from BN2 to Whitehawk FC for an 11.30am. Boxing Day game that was postponed due to a frozen pitch, then whizzed up to Horsham FC for a lunchtime-ish KO that was played

Don't hold out too much hope of winning the cigar :smokin:
