I can't recall ever seeing a shot hit the bar twice before.

If Elphick hadn't miscontrolled the ball he wouldn't have had to pass back to Kuipers. In his defence it may have taken an awkward bounce.

On the balance of probability, for both Virgo and Elphick, I'll always go for miscontrol.

Elphick always manages to play us into trouble.
For all people go on about AeA (our best defender), you can almost count on Elphick getting the opposition a goal somewhere along the way. Iffy passes across the pitch, playing team-mates into trouble, giving away fouls, back-passes, wandering away from strikers he's supposed to mark, going awol completely.....etc.

He ain't learning, you can put 7 Guy Butters around him and he'll still mess up and give the opposing side a goal (or two)

I'm trying not to cry over spilt milk.

I like to console myself by concentrating on the sublime chipped pass by Bennett into Dickinson, rather than dwell on the shocking penalty decision. It looked liked a fantastic pass at the time and just looks better and better with repeated viewing on the highlights

Two things for me, Elphick was just as much to blame as Kuipers and why wasn't Kuipers sent off?

Because the laws of the game specify that you can't give a goal keeper a red card for handling a back pass in his area (I'm assuming that's to avoid situations where the keeper thinks it doesn't count as a pass back being sent off)

the goalkeeper handling a back pass is not a penalty offence...however bringing down the forward looking at that again could have been one
No it couldn't.

As soon as the FDM handled the ball, the only relevant offence had been committed. The ref should have blown his whistle immediately. Anything that happened afterwards is therefore irrelevant - since the ball wasn't in play.

I wish I hadn't watched the highlights. I had just calmed down from Saturday and now I am seething again! I will never know how that wasn't given and from the highlights Kuipers was clearly fouled for their goal - wondered when he'd got his black eye! Even the commentary is so pro Brighton - we should have had all 3 points.

I never normally moan about refs on here because it can be a bit of a cop-out, but on this occasion that ref has f***ing cost us the game with one of the worst decisions I've seen in our games over the last few seasons. f***ing abysmal. Needs demoting for his overall performence. Wanker.

Having watched this back a couple of times is it just me or does it look like Kuipers hit his head on the back of their player's head?

Yes, thats what I thought. Demetriou was probably offside though so the goal should not have stood. Just watched it again he is definitely offside.
