I have got a place on the London to Brighton, question is I don't have a bike...which one and what size...I need to get fit and am a novice.

5' 11 14 stone.

So what sort of bike?
Size?
Make?
Budget £300 - £700 (max)

Thanks,

Parks

I've done it twice on two different mountain bikes borrowed for the occasion. Would advise against shelling out loads on a bike just for the ride. Maybe just borrow a bike, do a couple of ten mile rides before the day and see if you like it. It's a fairly gentle ride, apart from Ditchling Beacon, and you can just push the bike up there like most people.

Oh, and wear padded cycle shorts and put two jelly seats over the saddle.

Good luck

As one of the forums cyclists all I can say is go to Sydney Street bikes for their opinion. You can't take a recommendation over the net on what bike to get as all are slightly different fits.
