Right, slate me if you like, I don't care, but I just had to say it somewhere, so here goes:

If I could I'd shake the hand and say a massive thank you to each & every person who's contributed to making our Olympics simply amazing!
I've felt like I've been walking on air these past 2 weeks or so and my heart has been swollen with pride.

For me, I've always loved The Olympics anyway, but was especially looking forward to this one. Aside from watching hour upon hour of brilliant Olympic coverage on the BBC (one of our finest institutions), I took my kids up to the men's cycling road race on the first Saturday where we watched the riders roll out from Constitution Hill and then joined the crowds in Hyde Park to see the rest of the race on the big screen. On the Wednesday after that we joined the massive crowds lining the streets near Hampton Court Palace to watch the Women's and Men's Cycling Individual Time Trials. The Sunday after that we watched Women's Handball in the Copperbox at The Olympic Park.

Each and every day out mentioned above provided magical memories that will stay with me, and hopefully my kids too, for a lifetime. If it was possible to organise a better Olympic Games, then I'm sorry, I refuse to believe it. The volunteers especially have been a massive credit to us. The Sport has been superb, and GB sporting success beyond all expectation has just been the icing on that cake.

On leaving The Olympic Park it all got too much for me, and the old bottom lip trembled and I welled up as I explained to my kids just how proud all this going on around us made me feel. The pride I felt for my country and all those in it who had done their bit was immense.

I believe a nation has certainly been moved. I hope a generation truly has been inspired and that kids everywhere will have a long and happy sporting life ahead of them.

If you agree, please post your experiences and thanks here.

The Olympics has been truly incredible, the organisation has been first class, security robust and done inn the right manner, transport never a problem. Friendliness between different nations supporters relaxed, respectful and fun.

Then there are the peformances................

Just an absolute priviledge to attend and be part of it....

Haven't attended the Olympics but have been transfixed to the screen at key moments during them.

BBC coverage has been superb, TV and Online.

Team GB has delivered, Weather has been good (mainly)

Some great memories and I for one will be purchasing the Blu-Ray once it hits the shelves!

London 2012, an extraordinary year!

I agree. We once again showed the world that no one can put on a show like the British.

It makes Blatter and his bent cronies look even more ridiculous for failing to award us a World Cup finals.

Is the feeling the same away from London and the South East?

I have tickets for the closing GiG tonight. Mrs Moron will be custodian of the tissue box, the whole games have been an immense epic event.

My kids are 1 and 3, what a shame they are too young and will grow up (like me) thinking this wonderful rare celebration of human evolution is something that happens in far away places.
