Loic Remy move to QPR paves way for return of BZ

Queens Park Rangers are close to completing the £8m signing of Loic Remy after hijacking Newcastle's move for the France striker according to the BBC. With Redknapp also tracking West Brom striker Odemwingie and clearly wanting to bolster his striking options could this pave the way for a return to the Albion for Bobby Zamora? He is not fit yet following surgery to his hip and is not expected to be able to play until February but I did overhear hear this scenario being talked about last week by persons within the club, what are the chances?

If Ulloa happens, and it works, I don't think we'd want Zamora unless he would be willing to take a huge paycut considering his age and injury history

I'm not sure I'd want a crocked Bobby back if there was any chance we'd see him struggle on the pitch and fail to relive the good times

But then I think, don't be silly, I'd love to see Bobby in an Albion shirt as there's virtually nothing he could do (barring an own goal hattrick against Palace in Playoff final) to ruin his legacy.

Love to see him back on reduced wages of course but the guy is a class act.

Did anyone hear Gus saying we can't afford English players? It isn't very likely that we will get BZ is it?

I wouldn't want to see him back here now tbh. The expectations would be ridiculous and I doubt he would deliver to them. Move on and spend the large amount of money that would be required on someone like Ulloa, younger, fitter and hopefully better than a 31 year old injury prone Zamora.

He is a COMPLETELY different player now, not this goal scorer people expect.

Highly unlikely he would return. He said in a recent interview he doesn't really like football and it is just a job to him. It is unlikely he will return for the love of the club. He wants money from football nothing else.

He felt exactly the same way when he played for us only when he said it it received next to no attention. Had no effect whatsoever on his level of performance. Gus has said the same about members of our current squad as well. viz. they don't watch games on the telly etc.

When the ball hits the goal it's not Shearer or Cole it's ZAMORAAAAA
When the ball hits the net it's a pretty safe bet it's ZAMORAAAAA...
When the ball hits the net like a chuffing rocket that's ZAMORAAAA

:albion:

I don't care that he wouldn't score like he did before, I really wouldn't be bothered. I just want a shirt with ZAMORA 25 on the back. (Sorry Kazenga!)

Would love to see BZ turn out for The Albion again but its a 'head over heart' issue for me. They say 'never go back' and rarely do players discover the same form they had 10 years earlier plus I'm not sure we should blow a huge part of our limited budget on his salary, plus sadly he does seem a bit too injury prone so would be a big punt. I think our budget would be better used on a couple of players - maybe Ulloa and a central defender. We need to continue building for the future.

I'm not saying that BZ may never come back. Should we suddenly need another striker to do a short term job sometime then the best we might hope for is a fit BZ on a 'Wayne Bridge' like loan deal where we don't have to pay the bulk of his Prem wages. I remember Martin Chivers coming in to do a similar job for us during our First Division promotion run in.

Bobby Zamora, on a one month loan would do me! just to see him in the shirt and playing at the AMEX, without a doubt the atmosphere for his first home game would be electric.

I think he could offer us something, but I doubt the amount he would want to be paid would be worth it.

Still just the thought of seeing Bobby in a Brighton shirt again makes me excited.
