There was a weird card in Peacehaven, considering we now have an ultra-left MP. Only one candidate for 6 seats on the Town Council. I had to vote LD/Lab/Indy and only used 4 "x"s.. Mr Robertson did not count.

Gaisford? That's gone Labour too.

Yes ! I'm Gaisford, just seen the confirmed result on the Council website. Quite a swing there to Labour.

Edit: In fact I think this is the very first time a Labour councillor has EVER been elected in Gaisford ward.

To be honest even if I were raving 'leave' I would not vote for a UKIP councellor. Not sure why you think UKIP losses are due to loss of support for Brexit. I would have thought it is a combination of realising that no council is going to deliver Brexit, and that UKIP now have a public image of having a new leader every 2 weeks, a series of candidates who have to step down for cringeworthy or illegal behaviour, and a history of incompetance and failure. Oh, and Nigel Farrage as a scornful enemy (until he rejoins and becomes leader again, of course).
Thanks, and THIS!

A fair, unbiased view and decent analysis.

I think the final tally is 5 Labour gains, I LD gain and 5 Tory holds. That is pretty remarkable. Notwithstanding the national picture, this has made my day!

I didn't say people didn't make the link ..... I said that those that do are idiots. So anyone that voted along Brexit lines for the LOCAL elections is an idiot.

I disagree. I feel that the three main parties have totally undermined democracy with their handling or intentions regarding Brexit. I am so angry about this I will not vote for them in any capacity. Luckily I had a decent independent candidate that got my vote.

No - that’s wrong. Highest was Preston Park at 53% according to the official figures

Correct. The Tweet says Hove Park but when you go through line by line that %age belongs to Preston Park. Seems the local journo confused her two parkrun destinations
