I wonder why this SmashEDO people are focused on such a small company when there are much bigger defence companies around and EDO are just a tiny subcontractor.

The campaign seems to be really quite aggressive as well.

Maybe because they are in Brighton.

This sort of thing causes a lot of disruption to Forfars bakery, who are in the same road.

there appear to be people coming from Nottingham, Liverpool, Manchester etc - you can be damn sure that there are bigger defence companies closer to them than Brighton.

I suppose its similar to the Huntingon Life Sciences protests - but even there it is pretty much the only company in the country doing that job so you can understand why people travel from all over to throw blood at employees and the like.

And what about the intimidation of the employees of EDO who are just trying to do a job.

These people (protestors) are scum, and the law seems to prottect them so much at the expense of those they are trying to intimidate.
As much as I love demos I've got to admit that's my take on it as well. If they do manage to get it closed down the protesters will all go back to their little middle-class enclaves and think they've done something worthwhile whilst the working people they've helped make redundant will have to pick up the pieces of their lives - no joke in these times.

And then all that will happen is the landmines or nerve gas or whatever it is they make will simply be made in another country where the working class don't allow middle class scruples to stop them from earning a living - France for example.
