Would be fantastic news for a particular Western based financial services company.

They'll be OK with the new funding arrangements from the government, shirley. Along with RBOS, they'll be drawing down on it tomorrow by all accounts.

Indeed. I imagine the chances of further rights issues underwritten by the Government may also be good news for same Western based financial services company.

Lloyds may need to renegotiate terms as the market value of Hbos is a lot less than projected at the initial bid.

Is the right answer, the deal will go ahead but Lloyds will get a cheaper price as market value is less.

Some heads are going to roll tomorrow as well. It's the start of neo-socialism.

irresponsible journalism. the deal is probably off since the £50billion being pumped in means its unnecessary now. it was never needed anyway, HBOS could have written down bad debt and still made a profit for this year. only fear/panic in markets saw the share price pushed further and further down, along with all the other banks.

Thought you were ignoring me!!!! Its called a bank run mate or a run on a bank!!!!

Thats a pretty juvenile and irresponsible post. Haven't you been paying attention to the fact that the Government is guaranteeing all investments up to £50,000.

The only people that might be queueing are senile old people and pillocks like you.
