Wednesday striker Lloyd Owusu could be set for a reunion with his former Brentford manager Steve Coppell, now with second division rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.
Owusu was known to be frustrated when he was dropped to make way for Shefki Kuqi's return from international duty and the signing of Adam Proudlock in recent weeks and has had little impact as a substitute.
The Slough born frontman was linked with a return back south during the summer and has struggled to settle in Sheffield and at Wednesday in general.
It was under Coppell that Owusu had his best spell of his career, firing Brentford to the second division play-off final in which was the pair's last match for the club. Should Owusu move to Brighton, he would be obviously reunited with former Owls loanee Leon Knight who played with Owusu, when he was fit, last season.
