The only time I have had any dealings with Liz Costa was a very cold match at Torquay on New Years Day some years ago when she offered around soup to those sitting around her. I thought it was a nice gesture. I'm sure she doesn't mean to be how she is portrayed. She's just a lady of a certain age, with different ways of looking at the world than young men. Doesn't mean that her heart isn't in the right place.

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Every club has the Bobble Hatter supporters club that religously toes the party line.

I wonder what the penalty for slagging off Kerry Mayo is on the Costa coach ?!!

Seriously tho, they serve a very valid purpose and contribute to the general scheme of all things Albion, they didnt seem that friendly when we pitched up at Hull, so I empathise with you Richie (even though your directions were SHIT), but then again her opinions of us were probably gleaned from our rather leary outbursts at The 40 notes quiz night, when in fact we are rather nice people in day to day life !

Its probably also worth pointing out that although you organised one event Richie, Liz Costa has been doing just that for about twenty years !!

My directions form the pub to the labour office were off of the internet, 'AA directions etc' so dont blame me. The ones from Humber Bridge were Lord B's, not mine.

What's wrong with singing "One Liz Costa, there's only one Liz Costa?" I don't remember anything worse being said/sung. I agree that a lot of NSC-ers were a bit leary and pissed though.

er ...

I only posted the directions that were dictated to me over the phone by ... a member of the supporters' club.

:)

It turns out they were perfect directions provided you started from the right bridge (which wasn't the Humber Bridge).

:lolol:

Liz used to be a good old stick, but has never been the same since her heart was broken by the sex god that is John Lees. Matters reached a head when, after refusing to move in with our Liz for fear of upsetting his mother, our Johnnie decided to go on a 20 mile yomp on the Downs one Christmas Day, with poor old Liz left behind with the turkey and all the trimmings, and one empty space at the dining table.

Ever since then she has only had the Sapphic delights of Sarah Watts to relieve her carnal frustrations

Just felt like saying they really pissed me off at the Hull demo. Well, not all of them, but at least a few were very rude, were very rude to my girlfriend because she wasnt in a Brighton shirt and looked down their noses at me asking me in a bitchy voice if I "was 'hull" and then turning their noses up when I said I was a Brighton fan.

Rant over.

I was on the coach and I can assure you I was delighted to see all those who were there when we arrived, late. I don't know what you look like or I would have introduced myself - you have played football with my son for Hurstpierpoint and it would have been good to have put a face to name! Anyway, full marks for arranging it. As for looking down at people who were thought to be Hull, I thanked someone who was wearing a Hull scarf for supporting us - it's a shame there weren't a few more. Anyway, don't be disillusioned - there are all types in the Supporters Club!

Back in 1992 I was living in France. No internet, couldn't get R2 (pre-R5 days), no English newspapers, couldn't call the Seagulls Clubcall thing (only available from the UK), and it was the day of the winding up order. I didn't know how to get any update, so I rang Liz Costa at home in the evening, and she was perfectly charming, gave the whole story.

Having said that, I've felt recently that the Supporters Club don't like to mix with us oiks who, if the Goldstone was still around, would be populating the North Stand.

Not so, as far as I'm concerned! I used to be in the North Stand and much preferred the atmosphere there. Sitting sedately and clapping politely is not for me!

Its only because most of us older crowd only get out these days about twice a year.

I promise to be at my most impecable at the Peterboro game !

So did I. Turns out he's a college friend of Richie's, is from Southampton and was "dressed up" by Richie to make it look like we had some support from Hull.

I'm sorry about the way you and your girlfriend were treated at Hull, RM. I'm a member of the supporters club - primarily for cheap travel to away games. I didn't travel to Hull and spent that afternoon on the bridge over the A27 at Falmer. As Fran Hagerty says, there are all sorts in the supporters club, and most of us are OK - really.

I am a member of the supporters club and I'm sorry you felt you were looked down upon after all we are all Brighton fans and it should not be about who is the best?? After all they let me in:lolol: The majority of supporters club members are a good laugh and I have made some good footy buddys to travel away with considering I travel alone. This is a very tense time and feelings are running high so it should be about pulling resources together not having a go. If I didn't travel on the supporters coach I wouldn't be able to say Hi to Yorkie at all the various away grounds :lolol:

I might be joining you when I have moved. Some of the northern grounds will be too far for me to drive there and back in one day.
