Best - The way that people love, sport, music and beer and that they want to share that love by turning up to sports, music and drinking events

worst - the way that people are increasingly disrespectful to those around them, littering, pushing in queues etc

Oh, please. The last Labour Government did that. This Government is just trying to tidy up their mess, but it's very difficult, because the problems left by the last Government are so bad.

The Tory party knew what they were inheriting and made some wildly optimistic self-imposed statements about where they were taking the economy and the nation and have not delivered on anything. Blame the Labour party for what the present government inherited by all means; but you cannot blame them for the Tory party's assessment of the economy and the subsequent statements they made. Your comment is lazy and trite at best.

What i miss most: country pubs, the humour, good manners and politeness, the language and the ability to play with it, the countryside, the nhs, london (in small doses), the ease of socialising and my word the FOOD. English food has a poor reputation but it's what i miss most and is vastly underrated.

What i miss least: a right wing media that constantly stirs up hate, fear, and prejudice and answers to no-one. The class system, an obsession with celebrities, and snobbery.

Best

The countryside, and our coastline.
Country pubs.
Music
BBC
Democracy, even if we don't like what we get sometimes.
Our language
NHS
Sport, and the variety of great sporting events we have here.
Politeness and good manners, the ability to queue properly
The weather on a beautiful spring day
The British sense of humour

Worst

Overcrowding, especially in the South east, and the fact our countryside is slowly but surely being concreted over.
The weather on a shitty February day
Our overcrowded roads, and expensive public transport system

Most people know my UK bug bears so I will simply tell you some of the things I will miss about the UK: greasy spoons, tea, my friends and the two members of my family, British music and the associated culture, my seat at the AMEX, sarcasm, repetative and childish humour, Brighton, London, Manchester, British tandorri houses and the burgeoning craft beer scene.

I'd agree with most of this. The BBC is a very good call as well. Sport, drama, documentaries, comedy, radio, news....it's unbeatable.

Best - Traditions and Countryside
Worst- we are letting the Tories destroy this country again.

Agree with first point England is the best for traditions. Love our History too.

Labour had wrecked it already. Coalition government just continuing the trend and Labour will destroy it even more if they get back in.

I like the countryside and history. That's about it.

Leading the long list of bad things - EVERYTHING is expensive and 80% of people under 20 seem to be chavs nowadays.

Living our democracy is the best thing, the worst is being governed by one not formed by democracy

this is a thread about living in England, im sorry that wherever you live you are ruled by an undemocratic government but please try and stay on topic

abso-bloody-exactly

It's going to have to churn out some duff stuff, but when it does the good stuff, it is superb. And no ads. Brilliant in this day and age.

I think I've mentioned this before, but I realised since moving abroad (which really helps with this stuff) that the British achievements I'm most proud of are the BBC and the NHS, both of which the current government are doing their best to destroy. Oh, and our bacon's pretty damn awesome too.

As an ex-pat I've had a chance to reminisce on the UK and the best thing about the UK is the architecture. The worst things is the fact that everyone seems in such a rush. No-one has time for anyone even shop staff. Of course there is the exception to both that proves the rule. :)
