There are other posters (I won't say who) that often draw flack but who have admitted to some issues (in some cases via PM) and I find it quite easy to post kindly replies to them, having been somewhat triggered by them initially.

I agree with the comments that it is better to try to be kind, but I admit that I find my first reaction can often be very unkind. It is a work in progress

I didn't insult or attack him in any way. I suggested he may have a mental issue and should seek professional help. I'll leave it there and I will refrain from responding to future outbursts in case they are misconstrued.

This season, watching the PL, I believe a number of teams are trying to play out from the back more like we do. Maybe I'm watching through Albion tinted specs...but that's what I think.

There was a really good video on one of the better football YouTube channels LAST season that suggested Stones moving further forwards for City was directly influenced by RDZs tactics.

Ref ruined the game a bit. I dont think he was biased I just think we didnt abuse the that he blew his whistle over everything and nothing. Liverpool certainly did. Not the first time Ive seen this guy disrupt a game like that. Most of the yellow cards were silly barely free kicks

My first time in Anfield, it really does leave places like Old Trafford, the various Emirates and Stamford Bridge in the dust for atmosphere, light years ahead.

I thought we did ok today, not great not awful. Wonderful start and battling grit throughout and a brave flurry at the end. My one real disappointment was our failure to get our passing game/build from the back going - I know people are dressing it up as a clever change of tactics but sadly all it meant was it offered class players plenty of chances, 30 shots indeed. If Salah had his shooting boots on today our mood would be a bit darker tonight.

I thought both goals were individual errors. Can’t give a player as good as Szoboszlai the freedom of the park to pick out his pass into the box, not good enough that.

But I travel back still in better mood than I left Brighton, I think the players are battling hard, showing good quality and a win at Brentford is possible on that performance plus a few better bits and pieces

He actually is not - he’s 19
- But so what? Young players are not immune from evaluation just because they are young - the EPL isn’t a nursery - he‘ll not be getting lots of latitude in training because he is young. He the same age of several of our other young players but is not as emotionally mature as a football player imo. My comment is based on an evaluation of where I see he is at and a fair one at that - I was simply pointing out a single weakness that I see in his game at the moment - something that will improve with training - again, something that has been noted by others.

Btw you didn’t see my positive follow up comment I take it ( quoted below) in response to another poster suggesting he go out on loan (and you are also unaware of the many other posts I have made since we signed him, praising his talent, attacking mentality, ability to run with the ball and great long passing.)

My comment was in semi-flippancy, but the fact remains that he IS a kid playing on the other side of the world for the first time in his life, at the very highest level. I'm sure he, RDZ and the coaches are well aware of where he needs to improve - of course he's being evaluated. Its in the furnace where the strongest swords are forged, and what an experience for him coming on at Anfield. He's on a steep learning curve, but he wouldn't be here if our fairly excellent recruiters didn't think he has what it takes.

I think we're basically singing from the same hymnsheet, but cutting him some slack because he's young doesn't mean he's free from evaluation. Quite the opposite. Thats exactly the reason he was sent on.

Anfield is the best experience available to travelling fans in England. The stadium, the singing, the atmosphere, the surrounding streets and murals, the sense of heritage, and obviously the football they're playing. A pretty unbeatable package IMO.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but a highlight for me today was seeing Barco come on.I just wish he'd had more time. I'm hoping this presages a run in the team before the end of the season.

I pushed back a little strongly on your semi-flippancy . You are indeed saying exactly what I have said many times about our youngsters (but still not sure why you think I need to be further educated on how we treat them, their age or why they are given minutes though ) . I do think if you had read my comments on the Barco thread, or certainly my comments on the Fati, Buonanotte and Adingra threads, you probably would realise we are speaking from the same hymn sheet in general when it comes to these kids - I seem to spend half my time on NSC defending them from the harsh criticism of others!

I said in my follow up post, that the talent was there and all he basically needed was training and minutes on the pitch not to go out on loan as a few were suggesting. Yesterday in a post, I said I admired his passion, long passing, dribbling and attacking attitude and confidence. When we signed him, I was arguing (as a minority pov!) that he would be debuting in the first team by March with a view to being evaluated. I think I am the last person to need reminding our youngsters need our support and patience or what their talent and potential is!

Granted. But your analysis on this thread of Barco came across as a little harsh, given he's only been in the country for half an hour.
Although I spend far too much time on here, I don't read every page of every thread, and certainly do not maintain total recall on what every posters opinion is on each of our squad members. So yes, I may well have read your comments elsewhere on our youngsters at some point. But asking me to recall which poster on here said what about who - you might as well ask a dog who's arse he sniffed last Tuesday.

Anyway, as mentioned, we're not even disagreeing.
