Just a thought, perhaps everyone who didn't buy a Sunderland ticket because they thought a standard price ticket was too expensive should be banned from buying one for the Liverpool game as they will be the same price?

Erm. Just back from holiday about an hour ago...am I allowed one then?

What a funny thread. The OP is clearly not seriously suggesting a complete rewrite of the rules but is having a bit of a dig at the many people who had a got at him when he previously defended thy clubs stance of paying full price for the previous game against premier league opposition. I did a search to find out the history behind this.

To see the oh so precious responses to the opening post is quite funny really.

Just wondering, this surely has to be a contender for being televised. If so,do they not normally play on the Wednesday? In this case it could be the 21st September.
We are already on the box(Sky Sports) a couple of days later against Leeds(Fri 23rd),so this could affect decision etc? Dunno....

You mean in the sense that they need to bring all the cameras and equipment down on friday anyway, so why not bring it all down on tuesday and leave it all set up in the stadium. Suppose that could be a factor.

Either that,or deciding we're already getting enough tv coverage anyway. Not sure who 'Pool play before & after?

Also remember that the other big tie of the round involves Leeds (against Man U) so whichever one they choose to televise, one team will get two of their games covered in the space of four or five days.

Good point. I suppose if it does get televised,it could have a small bearing on STH's not taking their seat. Watching game in pub with the £30 or so they're not shelling out,to spend on beer instead could appeal. Like I said, only a small bearing probably. Unless they're gonna charge silly money to get in. Wonder how much they'll charge for this? £30? More?!

There is a reason why you have a negative rep....

I think they've been punished enough.

The simple point I was making was this. Certain people on here before the Sunderland game (a very small minority to be fair) considered that the club charging standard ticket prices to a Carling Cup game against a Premier League team was unreasonable and that they wouldn't buy one for that very reason. I was just trying to ascertain who of that small minority would now be going against their original principles and buying a ticket because the next game is against Liverpool.

The interesting fact is that of all the replies I've received to my original post not one reply was from those who my original comments were aimed at, in fact all those people who were very vocal at the time leading up to the Sunderland game over this issue - and yes I remember their names very well - have chosen to remain silent on the subject this time round.

I took a stance over price for Sunderland. There is a big difference between the Mackems and Liverpool in terms of attractiveness of draw. £33 for my st seat represents value to me for liverpool and not for sunderland. That's my choice and I will be exercising it.

Was a crowd of 17k a vindication of the pricing structure? depends what your objective was, from the clubs point of view revenue maximisation, it would have been the right choice but from a fans point of view it was a shame not to have a full house.

For what it's worth, i regret my original decion, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. It did give me a chance to listen to the atmos on the radio and it was awesome.

I moaned about the price for the sunderland game but did go in the end. Am I banned or can or am I ok??
