It doesn't look like he will be going anywhere this window, according to his interview in their local paper, unless the club has other ideas.

Joao Carlos Teixeira is hoping contract talks with Liverpool FC reach a successful conclusion as he looks to build on his classy performance against Exeter City.

The Portuguese attacking midfielder, who celebrated his first senior goal for the Reds in the 3-0 FA Cup third round replay win at Anfield, is out of contract this summer.

Negotiations over a new deal are ongoing as the 23-year-old battles to prove to manager Jurgen Klopp that he has the qualities required to play a big role in the club’s future.

“We are in conversations at the moment,” Teixeira told the ECHO.

“My contract runs out at the end of this season. I want to stay but we will see what happens.

“I don’t want to think about my future too much right now. I just want to play football. I want to enjoy this moment and try to build on it.

“I just have to keep working hard and keep doing my best in training. Whenever chances come along like this to impress Jurgen Klopp, it’s up to me to show him that I deserve more chances.”
I'm sure tex wants to stay at Liverpool its a great gig.

However Liverpool don't want him !

If he signs another 2 year deal with Liverpool how many games will he realistically play? Surely at his age he needs to be playing first team football. Needs to be stronger on the ball but would be a great option to have.

Liverpool have had a heap of injuries but in that time Teixeira has hardly figured. I'd say the writing was on the wall.

£2m for 6 months, when we got £500k for Ashley Barnes a PROVEN Championship goal scorer and solid 7/10 or 8/10 week in week out performer.

Got more than that didn't we? Plus I'm sure the add one would have come in as Burnley went up...?

If Huddersfield aren't already they will soon be Liverpool's feeder club.

I honestly don't think that we need him. Hughton demands far more of a work ethic from a player that l think Texeira can provide. One of the reasons that he seemed to do fairly well during his loan spell last season, was that we really weren't very good side then.

The one position that I think we need filled in this loan window is still a goalscoring centre forward, and he most certainly isn't that.

Although not settling the world alight in terms of their league position this season, I think Huddersfield might be a good place for Texeira to get his career back on track. He and David Wagner know each other well from Wagner's time as youth team coach at Anfield, and the latter could be the man to get the best out of him.
