Liverpool fans going to Paris for the Champions League final as well as families on their half-term break are currently facing long queues at the port of Dover due to security delays. People took it to Twitter to express their frustration at the situation, with travellers complaining about being stuck in hour-long bottlenecks. “3 hours in a queue at Dover after driving down on no sleep is comparable to the pain of childbirth, glad we’re a day early,” said a Liverpool fan while another called the bottlenecks “ridiculous as expected.”

Shame that.

Although on the whole, I'm very much in favour of keeping plastics out of the sea.

They booed the national anthem and even abide with me FFS, absolutely disgusting, hope they're stuck there till late tomorrow afternoon

Come on Real Madrid.

I don't wish to cast aspersions on any fellow B&HA fans or NSC users, but am I the only person who finds all this anti-Scouse vitriol pathetic? Having seen Albion at Anfield three times and Goodison once my encounters with Liverpudlians in pubs and around the ground has generally been positive and friendly. The only fight I've seen was caused by a mouthy Albion fan. If your hate of Scousers boils down to some of them having booed the national anthem then I would argue that at least they aren't sheep and are not afraid to stick two fingers up at nationalistic bollocks.

I’ve worked in Liverpool for over 20 years and find it all a bit embarrassing to be honest. Yes, the plastic fans from Plymouth etc are worthy of abuse but the local fans are as genuine as we are.

Some of them booed the Queen's Anthem.
Come on Liverpool.

It was anti government not the Queen.
Booing Abide with Me was a mistake because they heard the music and thought it was the anthem. Liverpool remembers what Thatcher did to them.

Sorry fellas, but I can't 'enjoy' such stories of travel delays like that. I wouldn't even wish that on the wankpuffins.

Support an English club from a city that is anti Tory, or support a Spanish club that was the play thing of Spains fascist dictator?

Is this what it has really come down to?

When I say support, I mean for this game only, obviously.

That's the big picture.

The smaller, and more immediate one, is people who have never even set foot in Liverpool watching it in their replica shirts at home or in the King and Queen and then giving it large on social media as if they did something different to picking a winning big club they otherwise had no connection with.

I can't stand the Royalist, Fascist Madrid scum but I can only support a team supported by people who went to Portslade Community College over their local team through gritted teeth.

Soz.

It's ****ing embarrassing is what it is. I find them to be the most amenable and grounded fans out of the big PL clubs. I don't remember too many "teams like Brighton" rants after beating them like we got from the London clubs. Or any of them coming on here and giving it the large ala Leeds. When we signed Lallana all I heard was "I hope he does well there" positivity from them as well.

And as for engaging in all the hub cap thievery stereotypes.........It's tinpot and childish.

Grow up NSC.

Indeed.

I was trying to recall who recorded 'Going to Paris' which is what John Peel played the day of the 1981 victory over the cheating Spaniards. Great track. And it whoosed me at the time but it is a song sung by a woman about meeting her female love in Paris. A common theme for this band. Someone please remind me of their name!

I will be watching the game with my old pal, Bob, he who saw the Beatles more than 20 times at the Cavern, and with whom I share my telly footy. YNWA.

Agree. I think a lot of us see these threads and move on instead of fueling them by challenging the lazy stereotypical or superfan nonsense contained in them.

Come on Real Madrid.

Did you smash up your telly in disgust, like right thinking people did when Steve Jones swore on the Bill Grundy programme?
