I guess there must be quite a few doing some basket holding this morning, as it’s showing sold out, with the exception of disability seats.

That doesn’t happen anymore as the club clears the baskets. It’s just demand outstripping supply.

I wonder if there is any chance of getting more tickets. Ground capacity 61 276 (according to Google). Away ticket allocation 2500 (according to posters on here). Doesn’t seem quite right.

Same here mate. As i have said before this is an inherent problem of away ticket sales at a lot of stadia whereby because of segregation requirements it is often the corner blocks with the worst view that open first.
Of course anyone could wait but as you have pointed out it is a risk and obviously the more people who wait then the more the chance that the club will read the lack of sales as lack of demand and thus not open the block people are waiting for!
To me the sales of the liverpool tickets did reflect a bit of this as unusually we seem to have sold more as we have gone down the tiers particularly today. It is sometimes overlooked that being in the top tier does guarantee you a ticket but not necessarily in the prime location at some g

Looking at Bozza's post above and adding up the blocks we have been given it would appear that away fans at Anfield this season are limited to about 2500. I looked at a slightly older stadium plan and each block had two more rows at the back which, together with block AL9 being considerably wider, made up the difference to about 3000.
There will as always be some more released later from the ones the club hold for players comps sponsors etc but i am guessing that will be it unless somebody else has any more info.

Think West Ham and Villa were early in the season before the new stand opened. Think it officially opened Dec 2023 but not fully so if it is now fully open we should be getting more tickets unless Liverpool are pulling a fast one and are going to sell at a higher price to their own fans.

I lived in Liverpool for a few years, very small part of that time in Anfield Road, actually. In the days of turnstiles and rolling up with cash to get into the Kop.

Still have MIL there who we have to visit occasionally and have looked at at ticket availability over the years. It's currently very difficult to get one as demand far outstrips supply. Even with 'local status' it means becoming a member, at cost, and then going into a ballot or having several home game credits.

It's not really Liverpool 'pulling a fast one' - more that they can satisfy their own supporters, whether plastic or not, rather than bunging a few to a few travelling supporters and suffering the possible consequences of extra hostile bodies around a congested stadium. I could be wrong, but can't see that happening, sadly.

Those last 2 rows used to be released last (i. e. about now) as "Restricted View' - and apparently they truly are! When stood, you can see the goal line at the Kop end, but not the rest of the goal.

The rules are 3000 or 10%, whichever is the least. Of course, it's down to Brighton whether they take the full allocation as the club have to pay for any tickets they take but don't sell! One would hope that if the option for more is available, the club will realise that sales have been very good despite travel problems and the fact it's on easter sunday so they would take up extra.

Further to your suggestion is it possible that Liverpool applied to have the away fans quantity reduced for the whole season as they were not sure when the stand would be finished. I am only basing this on the Bozza post and the fact that having counted all the seats in the sections we have opened AL6 885, AL7 816, AL8 730 and AL9 56 plus 12 in the disabled section it comes to 2499.
Surely the club would have acted quickly to get more tickets if that were a possibility as having it now showing as sold out is discouraging anyone who looks at the ticket site. I wholeheartedly agree that Liverpool would prefer to sell tickets to their fans at a higher price and i wonder if our club reciprocated and only gave pool 2500 when they visited us.

To be honest, I'm not quite sure how it works. Even with the Anfield Rd being built, Liverpool's capacity would still mean they should be given away teams 3000 tickets so most likely they have an agreement due to problems with segregation. You might be right about Liverpool getting an agreement for this season so it will be interesting to see what happens next year. Piss poor if they don't give away clubs the full allocation.

Does Apply Pay ever work on the ticketing site ? For the previous few aways my daughter booked the tickets but I did the honours for Liverpool. I remembered from the last time that this feature didn’t work so I had my cc at the ready but it must catch a few people out.
