No way I would put Crawley v Stoke as 2nd choice. Can't imagine that would go down a storm worldwide. Liverpool v Brighton would go into 2nd spot for me. Liverpool as we know are one of the worlds best supported clubs so that means £££ for the TV rights holders.

Sunderland or Middlesbrough v Arsenal - Chance of a surprise and possibly only all prem tie
Liverpool v Brighton - Everyone in the world loves Liverpool and already had one good telly tie against us
Chelsea v Birmingham - Chelsea are loved by the media and capital vs second city so potential large audience.
Everton v Blackpool or Sheffield Wednesday - Dull but possible upset.
Stevenage v Tottenham - Spurs win therefore no real neutral interest
Crawley Town v Stoke - will be a dire match to watch
Millwall or Southampton v Bolton - Who cares?
Norwich v Leicester - Only interest in this game is whether Norwich will be the Albion's next round opponents

I reckon the TV companies hated this draw.

Five Live First Games

My forecast/thinking:

1. Everton v Sheff Wed
2. Chelsea v Birmingham
3. Sunderland v Arsenal
4. Norwich v Leicester
5. Stevenage v Tottenham

6. Liverpool v Brighton
7. Crawley v Stoke
8. Southampton v Bolton

Not what I would have chosen. What I think they would think. So maybe the Liverpool game will miss out However, that selection excludes the three southern clubs. All three London clubs are included.

I suspect Southampton will field a below strength side and possibly Tottenham and Bolton as well. Maybe even Norwich. Liverpool will be a full strength. If the TV gets a wind of below strength sides they may exclude them.

Liverpool as possible Cup winners may rate higher.

2 on ITV, 3 on ESPN.

Sunderland or Middlesbrough v Arsenal - either all Premiership or a real cup upset possibility
Stevenage v Tottenham - poor venue, but Tottenham are a glamour side and Stevenage are going well in league one
Liverpool v Brighton - if it had been at the Amex it would have ranked top
Chelsea v Birmingham - big club against form Championship side and the stadium will be full = good telly
Crawley Town v Stoke - their crap venue won't come across well on telly, plus Stoke won't interest anyone
Everton v Blackpool or Sheffield Wednesday - bit of a nothing match, this.
Millwall or Southampton v Bolton - yawn, although Southampton will be favourites so a Championship side in the last 8 I think
Norwich v Leicester - zzzzzzzz

Naylor seems to think it is a dead cert for TV. Hope is right. Club should get confirmation tomorrow...

I think that Crawleys game will be one of the games chosen for TV as they are the lowest ranked club left in the competition and they are also at home which means its a harder game for the Premier league club

I think Southamptons game would have been likely to be picked if they had already won through as they are going well in the league and could provide a shock but as the tie won't be decided by then will the TV companies wait for the outcome before picking? - i don't think so and think that they will probably avoid selecting this fixture incase.

The rest are pretty close but my guess to go along with the Crawley game would be:
Sunderland / Middlesbrough vs Arsenal
Stevenage vs Spurs (as lower league team at home)
Maybe us next but it could easily be the Chelsea vs Birmingham game (2 well supported clubs, 1 ex-premier league) or Norwich vs Leicester (as there is a chance of an upset)

I think that they all have their merits to be picked for TV coverage so its not straightforward choice
