This almost makes up for the misery of being at the Cobblers/BHA debacle - or does it make it worse? On balance I'd not swap this for our current league position.
Don't be ridiculous. A club is not going to sack a manager after half a dozen games - particularly after a defeat in a noddy competition. Hodgson has decided that the league is a priority rather than a meaningless cup competition, Poyet did the same thing a few weeks back.
I know there are some looney chairmen around but it's still pretty unusual for an experienced manager to get the boot after less than a year - and even rarer for someone to go in under six months.
Try telling that to Leroy Rosenior:-
Rosenior returned to Torquay United as head coach on 17 May 2007, replacing Keith Curle[6] but was reportedly sacked after 10 minutes, which gave him the record of the shortest managerial reign in the history of English football. This was because at the same time Torquay were bought by a local consortium who installed Colin Lee as Chief Executive, Lee then appointed former Gulls player and Exeter City assistant manager Paul Buckle as manager.[7]

Yeah, it does happen when a manager is appointed by another chairman but it's not common.
If the league is their priority they're not making a very good job of it!
Blimey, give them a chance.I don't want to be an apologist for the scousers as I take much pleasure in their discomfort but it's only five games into the season.
They've had a tough start, playing three of the top four clubs, all while settling in under a new manager (and dealing with a lot of behind-the-scene activities) and with European games to play.
I love seeing the big clubs falter but I am depressed by the way in which a couple of bad results -or, in this case, one bad result, mean that there's speculation over a manager's future. That applies to Liverpool, West Ham, Leyton Orient and every other club where question marks have been raised about the manager.

Liverpool will turn this around, they have too much class not to. Form is temporary but I agree, it has certainly been a very dissapointing start to Hodgsons reign at Anfield, fortunately for him Liverpool supporters are patient with their managers.
