I should have added that I think it to be bizarre to clamp down on recreational drugs rather than performance enhancing drugs. But obviously there should be penalties in place for sportsmen/women who take any sort of drug.

There isn't a system to break.
Football's testing 'policy' is a joke and wide open to exploitation.

Chess and Belgium pigeon racing have caught more drugs cheats than football.

The last thing football wants to do in delve too deeply into recreational and PED usage, blind eyes are being turned left right and centre in order to protect the beautiful game.

At some point, a la Lance, the omerta will break and there will be some shocking revelations, to back up the current rumours.
Whether that be the full extent of Juventus and EPO, or Spanish footballs involvement on Operation Puerto.
Not to mention what EVERYBODY else is up too.

In the meantime all we're left with is one idiot who can't even pass a urine test on match day.
TBH the fact that someone actually got caught had me questioning if there was collusion from the club.

As for it being illegal, just shows how antiquated our drugs laws are. Pop up to the city on a Friday night and thousands are taking it.
