Does anyone know of any pub or bar that gets to show live premiership games, without going with either virgin, sky, or setanta?
Any overseas firms that can do it cheaper, and legal???
cheers lads and lasses x

Well there is no legal way of avoiding Sky or Setanta, however the Lectern on Lewes Road used to show games broadcast through foreign satellites

OK it's not in a pub or bar but download TVU - you'll normally find something to watch on that. saw Spurs against Krakow last Thursday courtesy of Fox Sports USA !!!

some places do it over an internet stream, somehow. it is perfectly legit (paying to view sky sports etc), but i don't think sky is their provider

that was very helpful of me wasn't it

It is not legal, in any way shape or form, for pubs over here to show live games that are televised by Sky / Setanta without them paying a commerical subscription to Sky / Setanta.

If the small beerglass is missing from the bottom right of the screen, then that is a private / domestic subscription they are using, and they are liable to be TWATTED by the broadcaster big time if they get rumbled.

I have got a bar, but not paying the prices sky want, 20 grand a year??
Fook em !!!

My local has got Sky and Setanta, apparently it costs him £1900 a month. He's fortunate in that he has a group of barflys who pretty much LIVE in there and spend all day and part of the evening betting on horses, watching the Sky 'At The Races' channel. He's even bought them a seperate little 22 inch LCD on the wall behind the bar, just for their horses (as everyone else was getting pissed off with horseracing interrupting football/music channels).

They must spend a cuffing FORTUNE in that joint to justify £1900 a month and their own tellybox.
