Job done four tickets duly ordered, swift, polite service. 13 minute wait which on a match day is not bad.

Although as others have said the booking fee is scandalous, but then we are not exactly alone in charging this are we? Cartainly when I order tickets for England games the same applies.

I recently got tickets for the Kazakstan game and there was a £2.50 delivery fee, but no 'Booking Fee'

If the Albion said it was a delivery fee, which would include someone's time to put them in an envelope and post them, a stamp, an envelope etc., then it would be more swallowable

Btw Is it only event tickets that attract booking fees? The reason I ask is I can buy almost anything with a card, but it seems only tickets attract an extra fee and I wonder where it has come from?

The booking fee has always been there though it has varied from £1-£2 on occasions - and yes it's frankly a con.

But...can anyone provide an answer as to why when we order ONLINE (a la Man City) there is NO booking fee, but it's present when we phone in?

Every time you use your card there is a fee charged by the CC company.

Most retailers swallow the charge rather than pass it on.

That seems very odd. Are you sure you didn't mis-hear the message. I must confess when I heard the message the first time which said something like hold the line or you can leave a message I thought maybe I couldn't get through. It then goes onto say you are in queue whatever, but if you don't listen properly I could see people hanging up perhaps.
