Dont know if anyone else read his coments, but basic outline was if Harman felt the ethnic minority are under-represented in all areas of life. Why does she not stand down as deputy leader of 'New' labour for someone like Diane Abbott ? Maybe some user can lift the full article ?

It is pathetic-where will it stop? Will Tesco's and Sainsbury's have to employ a percentage of staff similar to the ethnic ratio of the community it is in? Im all for equal opportunities but positive discrimination is a step too far. Always makes me laugh when the police forces try and encourage more ethnic minorities into the service. Has anyone thought about the fact that in certain black and asian communities being a police officer can result in you being disowned by your family and community?

This sort of discrimination is just plain wrong.

Employ someone on the basis of their skills, experience, job history, attitude, whatever. But DO NOT EVER consider/discount someone because of their race, sex etc.

But what should we expect from this sham of a government. Mind you, the Conservatives are not much better - apparently Theresa May supports this in principle.

I think I'll go into politics.

We need a strong 4th party in this country, challenging the big 3, maybe some of the smaller ones like Greens, UKIP, English Democrats, Liberal (not Lib Dems), Liberterian Party etc (excluding far right groups like BNP and NF) should consider clubbing together to form this new fourth party. But won't happen as they all argue over stupid things. If it does happen than Mr C should be invited to be leader of this strong alternative party if it becomes reality.
