At last. It's taken 10 years, but the morans that are the Labour Party have finally come up with a good one.

Unemployed council and housing association tenants should seek work or face losing their homes, housing minister Caroline Flint has suggested.
She said new applicants for social housing might sign "commitment contracts" pledging to seek employment.

That'll get the bastards worried. Where will they find time to go to the bookies, and down the pub if they have to go to work!! Shocking stuff by Labour. I dont understand why its just new applicants. Maybe Labour are starting to wake up. Or maybe they are shit scared of the country going bust, worked out they have taxed people that work as far as they dare, and are now targeting the lazy ****s that they seem so desperate to help

What a load of toss. If she cared so much about British interests, how come she did f*** all to save our manufacturing base?

Not going to get into huge debate re Thather, but as someone involved in Manufacturing, I'm afraid that Countries (first of all Japan, then South Korea, then the rest of the Far East, and now of course China and India)having the ability to make something identical for a FRACTION of the cost here in the UK is what killed off the majority of Manufacturers here in the UK.

Sorry, nothings changed.

They did a review of the rules that per put in place by the Conservatives in 1987

They only know of 1000 "marriages" like this in the country and a small amount of those claim benefits. It's very difficult to get acknowledged as such, the rules quite rightly are strict because it's illegal to have more than one wife !

A potential loop hole was spotted apparently and that's why the review took place.

So if anything, it's the government attempting to crack down. Anyway, they found the the existing rules put in place under a Conservative Government, were sufficient to ensure fraud wasn't taking place.

If you are entitled to benefits, you can only claim for one couple, but the extra "spouses" get an individual amount.

As dependents, they get less than claiming as individuals. So actually not claiming as much as they technically could (if entitled)

It's a bit of a non story, you couldn't make it up.

absolutely. we are about 90% foreign production now, we have the office here and a small factory but that small factory (130 stafff) costs me double what a bigger one in egypt (525ish) does before wages.

BMW, VW and most german firms were and are turning out top of the range high quality products.
Britain on the other hand was producing the Austin Maestro. Nuff said.
