Oh do **** off. Long before and certainly since EFL and EPL games have been ****ed about for TV we’ve been watching Worthing and Steyning an a regular basis. So when presented with the option of Brighton being humped into 17th on the last day of the season or a double (final) header at Wembley for half the price, I reckon we’ll be heading to HA0 rather than a ponderous Amex.
Strange thing to say. Would of thought Littlehampton fc will be delighted if Sussex people rally round and go to Wembley to support them even if it is for first time

My son played in the same teams growing up as the captain Jordan Clark.

I'm not. I don't support Littlehampon Town and never will. I support Whitehawk.
But it's nice to see a Sussex team make it to Wembley and I'd love to go and give them a shout. Thus putting some money in their coffers too. I don't think a Sussex team has been in the final before.
I'm sure they'd like the support. Otherwise they'd only have 200 fans there (As indeed would Hawks).
If Littlehampton won I'd be really happy. But I wouldn't pretend they were my team.

I’m not sure the Wembley experience is something to look forward to - horrible to get to from the South Coast (did it twice last week) - no drinking on Wembley Way any more, and £6.50 for a pint. Although the Fullers pub on the corner is ok for a drink before the game

My point was that if a club took only fans who were regulars there would be few in attendance. Littehampton's league crowds this year have been between 120 and 350.
So at Wembley, the vast majority will not be regulars. And my main offering was that this isn't a bad thing.

Funny only about a dozen Littlehampton fans at Uckfield earlier in the season
That was a midweek game in September last year. Littlehampton's support has increased exponentially as the season has progressed, inspired by our run in the Vase. I've been to several away games recently where the Littlehampton support has greatly outnumbered the home crowd (although it certainly won't do at Eastbourne on Tuesday night). These are our current figures:
For context, the average attendances in the County League are generally counted in the dozens:
I would expect Littlehampton (and the rest of the Sussex non-league community) to sell well in excess of the 7,000 tickets currently on offer for the final.
They have had some decent crowds for their cup games, I realise the league games have been lower (I have already mentioned that on this thread)
Whitehawk would definitely take more than 200, maybe the crowds are not that big this season but if you have been watching them for long you will know they have plenty of casual fans.

I think we'd take loads at Hawks (perhaps not as many as Littlehampton).
I'm not keen on the 'plastics' comments though. Folk just want to see the town do well but have other commitments on Sturdays. And I understand that, even as a non-league fan.
I do think that non-league is becoming more popular now. Long may it continue.
It’s obvious lots of non regulars will go.
What I don’t really get is plenty that wouldn’t give their non league club the time of day and can be usually found watching Chelsea/Arsenal/Liverpool etc in their local pub will suddenly think they are Littlehampton’s biggest fans for the day, never to be seen again when the new season starts.
I am a non league fan and I wish Littlehampton Town FC all the very best in the final and for next season, but I won’t be anywhere near Wembley on finals day.

Non-league footie is ****ing brilliant.
I don't get why anyone would support a team they have no affinity with by birth or family/residency.
When I was a kid I supported Aston Villa. It all started when, for some odd reason, my brother bought me an Aston Villa belt. I then became Villa in the monthly Subbuteo league at school.
They then won the league and I totally went off them. By the time they won the European Cup I was not really interested. I'd followed the Albion too, but I was taken to a boring match against Birmingham City and started watching at the Goldstone.
In 1989 I decided to start attending matches again, but was unsure who to follow, Albion or Villa. I started watching both but soon just followed the Albion, I had no connection with Villa.
So I follow Albion, Aldershot Town (born in Frimley and the first place I lived was round the corner) and Whitehawk. I am the eternal non-glory hunter.
If everyone followed their local teams, or those they have a connection with, the landscape would be different.
I’m quite lucky there are a few non league teams that are easy to get to from my house.
In recent years I have been to watch Newhaven, Peacehaven, Lewes, Whitehawk and a couple of Seaford games.
I did regularly watch Lewes as well as the Albion during some of the Withdean years.
One of my sons wanted me to take him to The Dripping Pan as his school friend was going, I found I really enjoyed going and that is how I got into non league.

Lewes is the perfect place. Lovely little set up.
I don't get out a lot these days, but have lined up Three Bridges v Whitehawk. I'm looking forward to it as much as any Albion game.
It's not that I love Albion any less, it's just that I find the non-league all round experience better. Having a drink on the half way line. Celebrating with the players. POTG. Easy access there and away. Everything is less regimented.
