In that case, I'm glad to gave helped introduce you to a new concept wherein people ARE allowed to have opinions which are different from your own.

You're welcome.

How does that work then ???

I thought it was patchy.

Some of it was excellent, most was ok and some was absolute GASH

Which is probably the best way to sum up Little Britain, bits of it are very good, some average and some make your skin crawl (anyone for bitty?)...which is probably what they aim to achieve anyway, isn't that the sign of good comedy?

Here we go. Someone disagrees with US and suddenly the whole world is against him and no-one sees life quite like him as he has some kind of divine knowledge about how the world should be, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Little Britain is a festival of wank and I'm glad it's been foisted on the moronic yanks.

Nipples you need to get a girlfriend and have sex occasionally.
You are getting soooooooooooooo ratty with everyone.

Monty Python was exactly the same.

It made me laugh a couple of times last night but all in all it was a little lacklustre in my opinion. But then again I don't like cringeworthy humour (Rosie O'D, Talking Dog etc.)

In fact why was cringeworthy humour invented? Humour is humour - I prefer people making me laugh til I snort  LB USA was very Ricky Gervais like last night in places and it isn't really humour - its situational comment - and I don't find it funny.

Its funny but I always thought good comedy was when you just laughed til you wet your pants, comedians never used to make me uncomfortable.

Don't want to appear too over-sensitive to criticism of my adopted country but why are the Yanks moronic? Don't think I know any morons on this side of the pond.

Agree that first episode was patchy. Liked the Rosie O'Donnell bit and the receptionist at the hospital was very well observed. Also the bit with the little girl who loved her mummy more than "transexual porn".

Funnniest thing I saw this week was the transcript of the Joe Kinnear press conference!

Go Gators , Go Jags and Up the Albion. Hoping for a treble this weekend.

Best wishes from the USA even to Nibble who on the face of it does appear to be a bit of a turd.

Lived there for a few years myself and didn't know any morons either, although I didn't know anyone who voted for Bush - so maybe thats the definer...

The Americans do have a different sense of humour though, like any country of the world, what we find funny varies. I don't think the Americans will like some of LB, but then again we don't like everything they offer up either...

Funnily enough where I live is Republican central but they are still all first class chaps and chappesses - witness my neighbour who has the happy habit of regularly giving me free beer!

Was here 4 years ago for the last election and have to say that although Bush is obviously far from perfect John Kerry looked like a disaster! Sarah Palin scares me a bit this time round.

Where abouts were you Tedebear?

I watched the end of it, and it was Ok. But too often you end up knowing where the joke is going to be, and so when it comes it loses any humour.

QI later on was much better comedy, IMO.
