Im really getting into Volbeat. they supported Metallica in denmark a few years ago and then played at download last year. They arent huge yet so im hoping they fit into your little band catchment.

Also a mates band from brighton who could go far, Furyon. Give them a go they are really good. sort of old school metal.

Back in my yoof, I went to see these chaps, play The Zap, and jolly good fun it was too.

I think the fact that this was a Top 40 hit puts the lie in the fact that no one had heard of them...:

Paradise was a pretty major hit on the indie charts as well:

Anyone else heard of Some of My Best Friends are Canadians? I used to have this little beauty from 1980 on vinyl. I'm guessing the fact this video has only been watched 64 times probably means I may have been alone.

(Sorry about the sound quality - I didn't upload it.)

I'm sure most of you will agree, but for me at least anyway, one of the most exciting things in life is discovering a band you really like. Listening to The Pixies, Talking Heads, Sonic Youth et al for the first time was like a pleasant smack in the face. Having given most of the 'big' guns a go, I'm now on a journey to dig up as many 'below the radar' bands as I can.

Just unearthed this little beauty:

Very Massive Attack. Plus she's fit.

Any recommendations muchly appreciated.

Thank you. £7.99 on iTunes. Something else to queue up on my iPhone

My old band, Last Days of Lorca. Local Brighton Post Rock act. Effin' good and starting to look like they're finally getting somewhere.

Recent 4 track EP available at iTunes, HMV, Play.com etc.

The Indelicates. At least I don't think anyone's heard of them...

Difficult to pick one song as each track of both of their albums vary so much one to the other, but I like this one. Plenty more out there on YouTube or iTunes...

Don't know why but in parts I can hear a Levellers kinda sound. Like it.

Volbeat are strange.....got some great guitar riffs etc but a little too pop sounding for me.

Rural Alberta Advantage are a great small Canadian band that I have seen a few time. Listen to the homelands album, Great indie acoustic rock with an amazing drummer
