Certainly doesn't look higher...
The Sir John Hall Stand at St.James' runs alongside the pitch, not behind the goal.

Apparently the stands at Selhurst are the furthest away from decent football in Europe.
When I went to the champions league final at OT a few years back I'm pretty sure I was in the 4th tier.
The top of the Sir John Hall Stand at St. James' is apparently the highest point of any stadium in Europe.
what i WILL say is that the top of st james' has been known to cause many panic attacks.......it's f***ing high up
Indeed, I had a season ticket 4 rows from the back of the Leazes end for years, just moved down to the Gallowgate end now though.
I didn't actually mind being up there, got a decent view of the pitch and a cracking view of the city. Only downside is climbing 14 flights of stairs, especially after a few bevvies.
It can't be THAT far from Sutton Utd's ground, shirley?Apparently the stands at Selhurst are the furthest away from decent football in Europe.
Get out of town , you Geordies don't drink do you??
Also found this semi decent semi inaccurate/outdated list of stands by capacity. First error is the Holte end at VP it holds over 20k and this says only 13k.

Decent photo of the view from the MIlburn stand at SJP.
Put a roof on and this is what The Amex will look like after redevelopment
