My father met my mother there, that’s good for me at least!

F**k All.

(From the other side of the Pennines originally and went to uni in Sheffield so perhaps I am biased but sh*t city, full of sh1tty people with no redeeming features as far as I'm concerned. Hope they go down and stay down.

Sheffield has too many hills.

Some very harsh views on this thread!!

I worked up in the area (for the old Bradford & Bingley!!) 20+ years ago and I remember after a few years having the choice of buying in Leeds or returning back home to Brighton. Went for the Brighton option, but could have quite happily plumped for Leeds and not looked back.

Quality place, locals when it comes to football are rather precious and ott, but outside of football the 'friendly up North' adage is definitely true in my own personal experience from working and living up there.

Still want them to get relegated though:albion2:

Not Robinsons, but back in the day the (Leeds Brewed) Tetley Mild & Bitter were both rather good.

Brewery closed & site now housing (there is a surprise).

As a northern monkey I used to serve in a Working Mans Club in Northwich Cheshire. Have some great memories from then.

Up to 1981 we had five pumps on the bar, three Milds (one of which was Tetley) and Two Bitters (one of which was Tetley) and NO Lager.

There was a huge kerfuffle on t'committee when a Lager Pump was installed. Another time, another time...

1. The Students’ Union at the University.
2. Jimmy Saville is dead.
The last day of every term when I 'studied' there ( before all day drinking was possible in pubs ).

9am Doubles Bar
11am - 3pm Old Bar
3pm - 5:30pm Tinnies sat outside at the tables by the in-union supermarket.
5:30pm to oblivion Old Bar

Luckily they sold session Miller Lite lager for 45p per pint. ( Late 80s)
