we had to get planning permission for new stands so it was always gonna take ages.

also the roof would NEVER happen so hardly DKs fault!

They didn't even try until they'd been at Withdean for ages.

And Perry quoted £1million to do the roof when we moved there and said it wasn't worth it. So it was possible, just a decision by the board not to.

well for starters they had to make sure we would fill the seats and you dont know that pre-withdean you can only guess.

and £1m at that time to build a roof?! pointless waste of money when we were bloody skint and loosing money week in week out.

I dont see how this is all DK's fault!

Off the pitch things are better than they have been for YEARS, its ON the pitch where we are having problems, which isnt exactly DK's fault.

He wasnt to know what would happen if he braught Adams in.

Im not saying its Adams fault either, Something had to be changed within the management as from what ive heard, Wilkins had NO respect from LRGE parts of the playing squad and it was only a matter of time before things got worse.

Who is to say that we would be any better off if we stil had Wilkins as manger?

Another point, who was to know how long we would be at withdean at the time?

I often wonder how much Dick Knight was haggling over, when he was in those long, protracted negotiations to take control from Archer....?

Over the years, Dick Knight has often stated how his doggedness to drive the hardest bargain, has made him a "challenging" person to do business with.

At the time, I remember talking to one of the gulls eye team and asking him if he thought DK would be successful. His answer was......."yes..............but whether it will be in time to save the Albion, I,m not sure".

By the time DK was "successful", the last game of that infamous season arrived........HEREFORD. No chance to sign new players or rebuild the squad. Our future was in the balance, and luckily for us......and DK in particular......it wasn't the end.

We all know the result now....................but what if we had lost..........?

Would the Albion really have survived in the conference.........75 miles away at Gillingham...?

I don't think so.

Taking too long, has become a hallmark of DK's tenure.

Other than all of the above which on their own are bad enough:

Waiting far too long to put in extra seats at the Withdean and timing it so badly so that having had season after season of sell out crowds that we actually suffer a reduced attendance in the season they get put in.

Failing to put a roof (even temporary) over the South Stand, costing the clubs significantly in lost revenue.

Failing to support all managers with the exception of Adams and Coppell

Failing to understand the modern football world and as a result allow good players to leave and others to not be persuaded to join.

Appointing Ken Brown, a failure at Millwall, and a complete PR nightmare

The ticket office, selling tickets, ticket policy etc etc etc. List too long here to go into detail!!!

Appearing when there is good news, disappearing when there is bad news.

So its the boards fault that permission for the ground took so long and that the original permission contained a mistake which meant the whole decision had to be made again?

The roof, the extra seating etc would not have been nessessary and only have been a waste of money had we got permission when the club had expected it to have been granted.

The Withdean was to be a temporary ground, and when we leave, the south stand is being removed, adding a roof to what are temporary seats is pointless, and very expensive - money we wouldn't have recovered and just added to the losses we are making

Failing to understand the modern football world and as a result allow good players to leave and others to not be persuaded to join.

wtf - what planet are you on, isn't it up to the players and the managers whether players join or stay, eg, Steve Sidwell, when on loan from Arsenal - we tried to sign him, but he chose Reading over us, because they had better facilities and could pay more in wages.

what should the club do - bankrupt ourselves to pay wages we can't afford? or as rediculous as your comments, how about kidnapping those who don't want to join and force them to sign and play through blackmail.

maybe we should be a special case and be able to play all the squad in a match, that way, every player is going to be happy and never want to leave

The ticket office, selling tickets, ticket policy etc etc etc. List too long here to go into detail!!!

They have tried their best to have a policy that tries to keep everyone happy and is also fair, like for big cup matches, but when demand is greater than supply, then people will miss out, and as said at the time, most applyuing have a good reason to deserve tickets, but may not be season ticket holders so its difficult to sell them in a way that everyone will see as fair.

Some people are never satisfied, and just can't see a good thing when its there. What would you rather have, someone like Archer & co, or someone like Bates at Chelsea - and then no club left because of poor financial responsibility and their failure to act in the clubs long term interests?
