It wont be because he is a better defender than Duffy because he isnt also playing Duffy releases Dunk from covering Webster.

Duffy is a better defender playing in CH's system. Webster is a better defender playing in Potter's system. Sure, Webster's made mistakes, but defending high up the pitch isn't Duffy's game, Deep-block, backs-to-the-wall defending is.

Duffy made multiple mistakes against Bournemouth which you and others are conveniently ignoring and, if Webster had made them, they'd be pointed out by you and others.

Webster is said to be good on the ball but generally I haven't seen that as he takes an age and too many steps to get the ball under control. The only aspect of his play that he beats Duffy for is speed.

It's by no means the only attribute he beats Duffy on but, you're right on this point. And this is one of the reasons why Potter prefers Webster to Duffy.

I want to see Maupay & Connolly upfront together ,

Mooy has to start and Propper , and for me a choice between Alzate and Bissouma (the former is better footballer IMO but Bissouma has more drive/energy).

back five will be Montoya, Duffy, Dunk, Webster , Burn ( honestly think Burn is underrated as a utility , play anywhere player )

Ali J will be unlucky to miss out but will come on 65 mins to replay Connolly. Trossard & Stephens to come on depending on how its going.

I'm not entirely sure Mooy 'has to start'.

Gross' absence v Bournemouth was rather noticeable,

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Mooy to told not to spare the horses as he'll have tomorrow 'off'.

Very good point this.

Duffy looked all at sea defending high up the pitch with no pace to get him out of trouble.

Does having Duffy in the team draw us back towards our own goal?

Schelotto won't play, and l'd be mega surprised if Bernardo made the starting line up too.

But as we know, it's near on impossible to guess Potter's thinking, so I'll have my hat ready to chomp on, just in case.

Fair points....but I was mega-surprised at Spurs an hour before KO. The magical world of Potter [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

If we go for 3CBs plus wingbacks I’d be happy to see Schelotto and Bernardo start. Wouldn’t really want either starting in a back 4 though........

No, it just leaves us exposed when opposition strikers make well-timed runs and are found by their teammates -- see Solanke's early effort on Saturday (if it had fallen to a better finisher that passage of play would have been examined somewhat more closely).
On which, Abraham will have a field day if Duffy starts and we defend high up the pitch -- despite what others are saying. Chelsea aren't going to pump high balls into him whichever of our defenders start. If our defenders play a high line (which is more likely), they'll look to thread balls through for him to run on to; if we play a deep line, then they'll look to pass through us or get behind down the flanks.

No need to rest anyone. 9 days before next league game. Why would he leave Mooy out. Just hope to accommodate Stephens. Mooy is not pushed out wide.

TBH, it's a guessing game, and it's fun, especially having at least 15 first team players!
